6 feet under Great POLITICAL show tonight |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 09:16 PM by greenbriar
a soldier came home from the farce of a war with both legs gone, and one arm gone He killed himself
mom wanted to dress him up with fake parts and put the uniform on him to show his heroics off
Sister screamed at the unjustice of it all and how we should see the reality of it
then Claire went off! talked about the soldiers coming home at night so no one would see the horrible side of the war
Great show!

in the 90's. Then 9/11 and Iraq. How things have gone to hell.
Pretty much pulled out all the stops.

I thought the same thing. On a side note, I love the show and hate to see it end. I always love it when the characters beat up on the right wing.

4. That show is going out with a bang... |
|
I've heard lots of real-life arguments similar to that between Claire and her Repug boyfriend lately.

11. I never watch TV- But I DO watch this show- and I LOVED it! |
|
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 01:39 AM by BeHereNow
However, I confess, Brenda's "Brother-love-dream" TOTALLY creeped me out... SO- does anyone else think Rico is about to take the business over? David does not appear to be able to do it without Nate... Your thoughts? BHN
On edit: As to the topic of the thread- the only thing I regretted about Clare's diatribe about the war was that she did it "drunk" which sort of invalidated the points she made for me. I would have love to have see her make the same points stone cold sober... My 2 cents...

13. I actually thought they were going to... |
|
..kill Claire off tonight. When the screen went white after her car wreck I was holding my breath, expecting there to be some words saying "Clarie Fisher 19??-2005"... I guess that would have been a bit much, especially this close to the end of the series. A few months ago I thought they would kill off the entire family for the finale, but I guess not..
Oh, and I don't care how nice Claire's boyfriend is...he's still a repug and I'm glad she told him to fuck off! :bounce:

|
...cept it was baby fisher's death. I hope the kid makes it but it's 2 months early. Maybe in the end Brenda & Ruth will finally like one another.

15. Uh, once again the Bush "basher" is drunk and grieving |
|
Just as when Ruth's sister went off on Bush while mourning her friend, Claire is verging on hysteria when she delivers her diatribe. These are not positive portrayals of liberal positions. The liberal positions are always substitutes for other, deeper problems, and are always delivered under condition of greatest hysteria. If you think Claire's performance on 6FU last night was positive, I guess I'll just have to shake my head. Sh looked like a drunken, out of control fool, and that transfers on to what she was saying. Not to mjention that she was ignorantly accusing the family of making no sacrifice when they were burying their son. Claire looked like a ranting, irrational ass. Nice spokesperson for our position, huh?
