Their contridictions will undo...(Sword of Shannara SPOILER - 1970's book)
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 11:28 PM by jsamuel
At the end, Shea uses the Sword of Shannara, a weapon he never understood. He holds it in his hands and sees his true self. He is the only person who has been true enough to himself to be able to touch the sword and not see the contradictions that would destroy his existence.

When Shea strikes the Warlod Lord with it, the Warlock Lord cannot withstand the sight of seeing the truth. He sees what he really is and it destroys his very existence.

Somehow, I feel like this is what we are fighting now. There are many possible swords, however, the one I think will start the process will be those torture videos and photos.

People will no longer be able to deny the truth behind themselves supporting Bush. The Bush administration will no longer be able to salvage itself by claiming morality. They will begin to devour themselves.

1. Not to nitpick, but...
it was Brona, the Warlock Lord he destroyed with the power of truth,or rather the Sword, not a Skull Bearer. He killed the Skull Bearer's with the Elfstones.

2. Thanks, I thought he tried it on a skull bearer first, but I haven't read
it in a long while...

5. I found what I half remembered, the Gnome who was killed by the Sword
just before the Warlock Lord. He was the first to be killed by the truth the sword possessed.

3. I've read it, and it's like, the only one of this long series I had
Since it was in my HS school library.

And I'd say Bush's quite immune to such a weapon because his denial is simply that strong.

He is strong against it, but the Sword of Shannara is the one thing that simply FORCES the truth to be FORCED in front of him. Denial will not save him from it.

It contains a "simple law that affected even a creature as awesome as Brona." (Warlock Lord)
