This weeks Top Ten List.
Very enjoyable this week. More great examples of RW hypocrisy!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/top10/05/210.html

One problem I do have is the mentioning of Jeanine Pirro's husband having a child out of wedlock with another woman. I know that most people here on DU are quick to say that personal life is personal when a Dem gets outed for something. I think we should return the sentiment when its a republican too. IMHO anyways.

2. It still doesn't excuse it...
If we're gonna bitch when these RW shit eaters spread stuff about LW peoples private lives then we shouldn't do it back.

3. So ...

If some RW politician makes it a point to go about bashing the immorality of the "homosexual lifestyle," and it turns out that person has been frequenting gay bars for companionship, we should respect that politician's privacy and not expose the hypocrisy?

I'm not sure what the point of that is.

8. Yes it is hypocritical.
But being married and then having an affair is hypocritical as well isn't it?

The big defense for what happened with Bill Clinton was it was his private life. And to my knowledge it had no effect on his job. So it doesn't have anything to do with me. So the same should apply to both parties. The fact that the RW has no morals and doesn't play by the rules should not matter.

9. I Think You're Off The Beam Here, LV
The criticism is that they talk one talk in public life and walk another walk in private life.

Clinton never preached morality, or fidelity, or railed against sexual freedom and how it was "tearing down the nation". His social philosophy was "live and let live".

While i don't approve of his extramarital affair, there's no hypocrisy on his part. He didn't tell everyone that he was a moral leader, tell them how to live THEIR lives, and then do something the opposite.

The repubs do that, and then are as or more guilty of perpitude than anyone else. That's the point on which they're hammered. It's not the affair. It's the duplicity.

11. I guess you're right.
You'd think after two years on DU I would be a bit more logical. Thanks for the lesson.

7. Beats me ...

Once again, though, Hillary is pretty soundly critized by the RW less for anything she has personally done than for what her husband has done.

I'm all about leaving people's personal lives alone, as long as they aren't breaking any legitimate laws, up to the point they start making political capital out of the private lives of others.

10. Hillary got SLAMMED for Bill's affair!
It was ridiculous. She was damned if she did and damned if she didn't. She got crap for standing by him, though you know she'd be accused of "abandoning her family" or something had she left him.
