Ugandan radio show host is "sorry" after charged with sedition
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 06:22 AM by wli
Andrew Mwenda, an Ugandan radio show host who speculated about the causes of the death of Sudan's Vice-President John Garang has been charged with sedition for speculating about the cause of the crash leading to John Garang's death. The concomitant forced closure of the radio station he worked for has been condemned by politician James Otieno. The press had been warned by Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni not to speculate regarding the cause of the crash that killed Sudanese Vice-President John Garang.

Could these sorts of strongarm tactics come to America regarding various highly suspicious events?
