they'll still think "hm 33%? there's still hope" but once it drops below 25% they'll finally recognize the elephant in the living room...not before.
remember, these people are being kept in line with money, blackmail and destruction of career. Those are very large sticks. Its gonna have to be at least 75% against Bush. IMHO

That's when the 15% that are hardcore Christian fascists, and the 15% that are Thatcherite every-man-for-himself freaks give up on him. That's when he becomes truly a spent political force. Reasons this could happen: widespread disgust with Shrubbie makes them see him as a sinking ship, or the two groups conflict with one another and Shrubbie has to pick a side.
