2.99 for premium here in Atlanta |
|
I drive a Volvo station wagon, 10 years old and designed to run on 91 octane (NOTE: You don't need premium if your engine wasn't designed to run on it, look at your owner's manual for further guidance). Yikes.

10. It's already happened here |
|
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 12:32 PM by Neo
A local truck co in Ohio just went out of business because their fuel costs increased by $10,000.00 a month.
Sooner or later someone's gonna snap over this and someone will end up dead, whether it be a politician, Oil Co. executive, or a gas station owner, people haven't been this outraged since the energy crisis of the 70's and it's gonna get ugly.

5. Don't use higher octane then is required, your car |
|
is tuned to run on that, and higher octane won't do anything.

8. Yeah, that's sort of my problem |
|
I'm stuck with it. And in any event, the difference is .20 or so per gallon, and not really much of a help.

14. I live close to work, so the cost difference isn't so bad |
|
The average commute in Atlanta is very long, so both my partner and I are doing okay. I live six miles from work, he lives seven. But damn, it sure seemed strange to see that price today.
