Contingency plans for Martial Law? |
|
OK, I don't really believe that * will stage a terrorist attack and declare Martial Law, but IF it happens, would this site be shut down? Probably.
It might be nice to have a contingency plan. Perhaps we could give our phone numbers to the mods who could somehow figure out a way to contact everyone. For example, Skinner calls Ladyhawk with a list of other folks to call, etc.
It wouldn't be a secret, but at least we might be able to protest if something that horrible happened.
Disclaimer: I'm on pain meds. :P

since you're on pain meds I'll leave it at that
importance is a relative concept. for some, it's their entire reason for being. others, just a place to discuss politics with similiarly minded folks.

4. If it ever came to closing down sites on the Internet (not sure it will), |
|
don't you think this would be one of them? I do.
Still, I really don't think the shrubbies will try anything like that just yet. I was envisioning a "worst case scenario." It doesn't mean I think it's going to happen.

6. no, because this is a harmless discussion forum |
|
visited by harmless people interested in politics. the site, the postings, the government doesn't give a rat's ass about this place, because with the exception of some very very disturbed people who are advocating a violent coup (because we all know violent coups lead to more freedom :eyes:), there isn't anything on here that would warrant the government giving a shit.

|
And why aren't you reporting it?

9. Some people don't view peaceful protests as "harmless" |
|
DU has raised tens of thousands of dollars for some causes, which has made it and certain notable people on DU big targets. That's all I'm saying. I certainly am NOT advocating violence. No way.
