1. To him I bet it is simple..
He takes the number of lives he has ended, multiplies it by about 100 then steals that much money from our troops, and that "balances" it out in his mind. "Lost this many troops, made this much money, yep! sounds like good square math to me!" A-hole.

It's easy to "forget" the facts when you pretend they don't exist, or you try to distract people with something else. It's childish, but that's what he does.
