Violence is coming to America in Large Doses, from Within
of course this has happened many times in american history, and it's getting ready to happen again, because we've failed to learn the lesson's of history.

the liberals and the conservatives are going to meet down the road ahead in blood, and call me a wild eyed fool for saying it, i don't care anymore.

terrorism is coming, and not all of it is going to be done by foreigners, but by the good ol' boys next door.

8. Well maybe it is time to finally bring the house down
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 10:10 PM by lynettebro440
I've only been alive for 4 decades now and I have always said that something big has to break this dysfunctional family we call our government. It is crooked from way insides the intestines of itself. We need to gut it. If these cow poke morons wants to start a fight, the educated moral people will woop their asses. I say bring it on, I say it's time we stop being afraid of Uncle Jeb down the street and say "OK, what are you going to do about it?" I think we can win, because they have definately proved time and time again what complete morons they really are. I say, "Bring Em On."

3. Fine let the left and right wing wackos kill each other
If they take politics so seriously that they have to pick up arms against each other they don't deserve living, the majority of us will continue to settle our differences sensibly and humanely.

9. It won't be the left wing that starts it
Left and right wings are not equivalent.

10. Uh....
No settling sensibly and humanely with the neo-cons. They don't give a fuck if we live or die. Or the quality of our lives. "Let them eat cake." Not sure how the situation will be solved, but do believe that there is a good possibility that a revolution will have to occur.

15. No.
I clearly said "people who take politics so seriously that they have to pick up arms" unless you are one of these people who is willing to pick up a weapon and kill another over politics I don't understand why you would be offended and resort to calling me a "freak".

22. There are times when there is no other choice.
I'm not saying I think we are there yet, but we seem to be headed in that direction. Our elections are fraudulent and I would rather see democracy restored through peaceful means. I wouldn't call the Patriots wackos who deserved to die because they took politics (freedom?) too seriously.

25. "Patriots"
Again anyone regardless of party lines who murders another because of political differences is not a "Patriot" or a "Hero" they are "Cowards" and "Fanatics" and they deserve nothing less than being put away from the rest of society. The other day I passed by two cars with Bush stickers did I get out of car and attack them? (NO!) did they get out of their car to attack me? (NO!), murdering people because of their political beliefs isn't any better than a gang member killing someone for just wearing a red shirt.

You can make up all the excuses in the world to make this type of violence acceptable but in the end everyone if this happens (mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, aunts, uncles, friends, neighbors) suffers.

27. I don't think anyone suggested murdering people
for supporting the president. Any I certainely wouldn't do so. But there could be certain instances where one would have to 'respond' to violence with violence.

30. I think there is a line where politics becomes a fight for the survival
of our republic, as Franklin said, "if we can keep it." It is our duty as patriots to save this country from tyranny, if it comes to that. To do less than that would dishonor the people who died creating it and saving it before us.

I'm not saying we are there either, but I am trying to distinguish this sort of fight from "politics." I think there are a scant few, if any, on this board who would even consider harming another person over his or her political beliefs.

23. I have had to drive to keep from being run off the road
simply for my political beliefs. We may all end up having to defend ourselves if mopaul is right. And I believe he is.

And I may not pick up a weapon over political thinking or expression, but I WILL be defending myself/family, most likely, due to others politics.

Most all of the massive suffering in this world is due to someone's politics. Politics is very serious when it affects so many lives. And it is wacko that this is even a fact.

12. For some of us the violence is already here ...
http://kweerwolf.blogspot.com/2005/08/summer-of-hate.html

Not just here in Kansas City, but all over the country. In Lakeland, Fla., two gay men returned to find their home burglarized, set on fire and a "Die Fags!" message left behind. Near the gay-friendly community of Palm Springs, Calif., two 13-year-old girls were charged with painting anti-gay slurs over homes, vehicles and driveways because they knew there was a gay couple living in the neighborhood. Less than a week later a Jewish synagogue was also vandalized. In Montrose, Colo., two men were arrested in the murder of a gay man. (In shades of the Matthew Shepherd case, they claimed the victim tried to "molest" them.) In the Chicago area two young men barely out of their teens are charged with assaulting two teenage girls who they had tried to pick up. The girls had told them they weren't interested in dating them because they were lesbians. In Los Angeles, the ACLU stepped in when reports surfaced about jail guards harassing gay prisoners. New York City has recorded over 100 anti-gay bias crimes so far this summer.

This summer it's apparently open season on gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons.

If it wasn't so scary, it would remind me of an old Gary Larson "Far Side" cartoon in which one deer notices that the other has marking that resemble a target. "Bummer of a birthmark," he tells his friend.

Being openly gay in the summer of 2005 is a lot like having a target painted on your back.

******************************************
In the current political climate, the LGBT community has become like the carnary in the coal mine. The right-wingers and fundies first stir up violence against what they preceive to be the weakest links in society ... so expect violence against gays and lesbians to continue as the rabid, frothing-at-the-mouth "compassionate conservativism" works it's way up the food chain.

The RIGHT WING WHACKOS have already picked up arms. They are starting to feel desperate because they know the tide is turning. Desperate people do desperate things.

19. I ALMOST WITNESSED POLITICAL VIOLENCE TONIGHT.
I was at the grocery store and waiting in the check-out lane. The guy is front of me was turn around in the line and staring directly behind me. He started muttering to himself and then I noticed he was wearing a "Israel Defence" t-shirt. He was staring thru me, then started turning his head trying to see up and down the aisles. I became really uncomfortable with the situation because he was so intense. He finally turned around to say something to his girlfriend when I turned around just in time to see two women wearing scarves over their head. I swear this guy was staring them down. He even stopped with his cart before he left to store to see if he could stare them down again.

And I had an experience. There was a woman who cut in front of me as I was reaching for milk and she was wearing a t-shirt that had a quote from the President. Made me fucking pissed on both accounts.

Back to topic, I was really concerned that I might come out to some violence or confrontation in the parking lot. That guy was crazed looking.

20. 90% of Repukes support the Scrub.
80% of Democrats do not. This according to somebody's poll out in the last few days.

If true then there is almost nothing in the middle holding it together. Extreme polarization can be volatile. (See "Civil War".)
