Are you sure you don't mean, "desecate?"

Desecate: to cut down, mow.

To describe what happened to the memorial in Crawford as "desecration," seems, well ... melodramatic. I realize emotions are running high, but its not like the redneck shit heel tore through an actual graveyard. A collection of wooden crosses along the side of a road, is not sacred.

Let's not embarass ourselves over an act of vandalism. Yes, it was meant to inflame, and "Cletus the slackjawed yokel" deserves our anger and scorn, and a stay behind bars, but let's not act like he did doughnuts in the middle of Arlington National.

1. It may not have been an actual graveyard

It is a memorial to those lost in this war, therefore, IMHO, it IS sacred.

How would you feel if someone spraypainted the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington DC.

Mowing down the crosses is a similar act.

On edit:

2. They are sacred to the parents whose child's name is on them.
If it were me and he ran over a cross with my son's name on it, I'd be in some real pain.

What difference does it really make? He drove over the memory of them

We know more than one cross was put up by a family member.

Please tell me. Who are the protesters hurting? Anyone?

4. play it up for the media coverage.
and he did rather do doughnuts in arlington west (or is it south), anyway a memorial for people who have died serving this country. OK, no doughnuts, but thinking proportionally it was comperable. Not the worst thing but it was a quite disrespectful thing to do. Media coverage carries the day.

and many here are just itching for a fight. You do the math ...

The protest in Crawford needs to remain peaceful. However, I look around, and now firmly believe Cindy Sheehan's protest will end badly.

11. Hopefully this will get some press
and it may put a damper on counter-protests. The protest would remain peaceful if they didn't keep pulling crap like this. Let's hope everyone keeps a level head..
