This has been bugging me for months now... |
|
How come it was anathema to the Catholic hirearchy that John Kerry was a "pro-choice" Democratic presidential candidate but they don't seem to care that Rudy Giuliani(the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination in all the most recent polls)is not only pro-choice but twice divorced?
Am I missing something here?

4. You are referring to the same catholic hierarchy that has... |
|
known about, and created a safe haven for, pederasts for over half a century. The same hierarchy that elevated the chief perpetrator to cardinal (law). :evilfrown:  :grr: :evilfrown:

5. Easy. Giuliani doesn't go to church. |
|
Kerry is a practicing catholic and went to chuch every sunday, so the conservatives made a big deal out of whether a bishop would refuse him communion.
But the thing is, there are plenty of politicians who can't get communion at a catholic church. They are protestants, jews, nonbelievers. But it isn't scandalous for them.
All you have to do is disinvite yourself from the catholic church, and presto chango you arent' in trouble anymore.
Giuliani simply stopped going, so it wasn't possible to "excommunicate" him the way the bishops threatened Kerry.
