...to begging Cindy Sheehan and the Crawford Peace House to let me patrol the Arlington West crosses with an AK-47 in my hands.
I know they're only planks of wood and strips of colored fabric, true, but for families across America, they represent family and loved ones, and the sum total of what our nation and our families have lost.
My heart is sick and sad at the news of this desecration. My wife is in tears. She's saying, "We're supposed to be better than this."

It would be far better to get the jerks license plate number and have him arrested. Then ensure his mug shot gets posted at the smoking gun. We're better than the military route too...
Lets go patrol the crosses with our cameras! My Nikon and I will be there (again) soon.

Although I understand your anger (I'm angry about it, too), bringing guns to a peace vigil is not a good idea.
Go to Crawford, and stand guard, if that's your desire, but do it peacefully. This is all about bringing an end to killing, not creating more of it. :-)
