I apologize for anything bad I ever said about the citizens of Crawford |
|
Texas. :spank:
This morning on Morning Sedition, AAR, I hear Cindy say a farmer CLOSER to the idiot's fake ranch is offering his land to Cindy and her cause. :loveya: HOW WONDERFUL IS THAT???!!!
This is my SINCERE apology to Crawford Texas citizens and any of our fellow Democratic Texans I may have offended by saying the citizens of Crawford were anti-Cindy because they weren't speaking out to support her. I was WRONG! :spank::spank::spank::spank:
CRAWFORD CITIZENS ROCK!:yourock:DEMOCRATIC Texans Rock too!:yourock: And I'm very, very, very sorry for what I said.:hi:

1. Yep, that's great news |
|
The bad news is that other landowners nearby are going to court to try to prevent anyone from parking or stopping within two miles of Camp Casey

Bloomberg is reporting that they're petitioning a county court in Waco today. After nine days of watching as one woman's protest has grown into a national event, dozens of the farmers and ranchers neighboring Bush's 1,600-acre Prairie Chapel Ranch plan to petition a county court in nearby Waco tomorrow, according to one, Pete Martinka. They want to prevent anyone from parking or stopping within two miles of the makeshift campsite erected by Cindy Sheehan, a 48-year-old woman from Vacaville, California, whose son, Casey, was killed in the war in Iraq.
``She's pitching tents on private property,'' said Martinka, who lives on the 104-acre Lazy Czech Ranch near the Bush property. Erecting signs prohibiting stopping and parking would halt traffic jams on the narrow country road and would ``keep the riff-raff out of our hair.'' http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000103&sid=a4kxTk7Pm1CU&refer=us

7. You can petition the court for almost anything |
|
and you can sue someone for salmost anything. That does not mean there is any validity to the petition or that the judge isn't going to laugh you out of his courtroom.
The petition is a PR stunt.

6. This is not addressed to you in particular |
|
but to some DU'ers in general.
Rural people are no different than urban people, no more a monolithic voting block than any onthers.
The vitriol occasionally expressed here against the country is inexplicable and counterproductive.
:spank:
Hey that's fun.

10. I'm a 'rural' gal myself and |
|
my opinion wasn't because they were rural or southern or Texans (my entire family is southern and I was born in Oklahoma). I was just pissed off at the anti-Cindy protests last weekend and thought Crawford citizens should have showed up to support Cindy. My statement was too general and I apologize for saying bad things about the Crawford citizens and I now see there ARE people there who support her and are willing to say so. Of course we still have the anti-Cindy people there, but now we see the ones who support her and now I know they DO exist. I THANK THEM for taking a stand.

I am in the crew that counts the votes in my area. In a county where there are less than 10 registered DEMS, (YEP you read that right, less than 10, a lot less than 10 actually) Kerry got more votes than you would have guessed. Nader got votes here. A lot of folks fault out didn't vote in the Presidential contest while the rest of their ballots were carefully filled out.
Oh, our state elected a DEM governor and passed a medical marijuana initiative.
Believe me when I say if my county is not solid red, no county is. We need only to build bridges to rural voters instead of acting toward them the way right wing pundits tell them ALL Liberals thing of them. Some of the shit I saw espoused here the other night was the same kind of bigotry I always believed Liberals worked to eradicate. Made me ashamed. What I learned is there are some knee-jerking hot heads on all sides of politics.
If we treat all Americans decently, get our message out about Democratic Party policy goals and show America there are win/win solutions to the problems we all face, we can win these people back. They were once the backbone of the party.

16. Think about the many ways the neocons and bushistas intimidate people |

who don't fall into lock step and do their evil bidding. Now contemplate how much courage it took to open the gate to let protesters use your land, closer to the Chicken Hawk Ranch.
That farmer is a stout hearted chap. May his tribe prosper and grow!
