AG child torture videos and pictures to hit new level of coverage: TDS
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 09:59 AM by Melodybe
Seymor Hersh is on the Daily Show tonight and will without a doubt be talking about them.

Since I'll guess that the Daily Show reaches about 12 million viewers seems like this story is bout to bust wide open.

2. Well, it's been posted a few times today that Hersh will be on TDS
and since he is the only journalist to see the torture videos and pictures and the fact that the government is stonewalling the release of said pictures as we speak, I'm guessing that he will be talking about it tonight.

5. You know all that "outsourcing" Bush is into. Like outsourcing protection
for all of those American (Cheney) companies over there supposedly doing everything for the military (meals, laundry, supplies, over pricing, stealing, etc.). Well, there are tons of companies that supply protection for these other contractors. These "militias" for lack of a better word, are doing the same thing as our troops, except they get paid $1000.00+ a day where our troops might get $200 a day. Our troops are aware of it.

These "militia mercenaries" have no laws. They do what they want . . . including raping, killing, torturing, etc.

It's not our troops; however, they are filling in for our troops in some parts of Iraq. These "militia" guys got their experience in Columbia with the Sandinista (remember all those murderers over there, the hit men?). Well one of the companies, Blackwater (look up online), provide these trained military types to subcontract to help our military.

There are videos of these men raping children, male and female, no age limit, torturing men, women, and children. Killing people in front of their families. The Pentagon as well as some senators have commented on the tapes they have seen, but very little.

And then we wonder why they hate us. They don't know our military from these subcontractors. As far as they know, it's all our military doing this to their people. But, always wanting to save a buck of two, Bush continues to outsource and make these companies as rich as he has made every damn one that sits on his cabinet. Everyone of them has an oil background. Including Karzai out of Afghanistan. The pipeline started way back and they keep going back to Afghanistan because the Taliban keep bombing it. OIL, OIL, OIL,

OIL, OIL, money, money, power, power, POWER. That's all they care about.

Welcome to DU. Hope you stay for a while.

8. sometimes
it's amazing just how low they will stoop to remain in control. and i suppose we are seeing the depths of it on a daily basis.

in re: outsourcing - i have heard of this in passing, but nothing in detail. over the past few months i have slowly come to learn about many atrocities and shady deals of this admin and previous admins, thanks to the good people at DU.

sometimes i find it difficult to handle all the revelations.. all the evil and greedy things that have been done/are being done. i suppose my question is, what can be done with this information? can we break through to the people (can we bypass the MSM) is there even any hope?

i believe there is great power in knowledge, however, sometimes i get a little disheartened and discouraged.

11. Whenever I feel bad about the state of things I remember
that culture is determined by the art, music, and literature of the time.

That said the anti-Bush crowd is way more creative and we out number them 100-1 in the arts.

10. Mr. Bush - stop torturing children, women and men in the name
of the people of the United States of America. Now. We won't have it. It is wrong, and you are responsible. Stop it now.

Sincerely, SpiralHawk
