REMINDER: Do not post personal information for private citizens!

I know that this Larry Northern character who mowed down the crosses in Crawford is an asshole, but I still have to remind everyone that posting personal information for private citizens is NOT PERMITTED on Democratic Underground.

We will permit you to post the information which was referenced in the Reuters article -- his name and his hometown. But you are NOT ALLOWED to post any other information about this person on Democratic Underground. Do not post his home address, phone number, email, office address, photographs (except photos from mainstream news sources), or any other personal information. Do not post links to websites that have Mr. Northern's personal information.

This is an extremely serious issue. Posts that reference Mr. Northern's personal information can be interpreted as an invitation to harass him. Let's leave that type of thing to the Freepers.

I had a thread get vaporized because I suggested a protest outside Michelle Malkin's house. It was kind of a joke, but if someone went and did it I wouldn't have lost any sleep over it. I merely mentioned her hometown and did not post her address. Is she a "private" citizen? Is it OK to post contact info for "public" citizens. Or just none at all?
