I love Current TV, the factoids before commercial break are outstanding.

The Current time capsule where they show complete video clips, like Reagan's assassenation attempt, is awesome.

The fact that they mention tons of bands that Clear Channel won't play is awesome.

Everything about this channel is awesome, get with it folks this IS our news.

The videos exist on the internet.
As opposed to the serial play nature of television, a video on the internet can be played anytime you, the viewer, are ready
The videos are fresher and more immediate (ie, if someone records something RIGHT NOW and uploads it, we can watch it RIGHT NOW, as opposed to hoping that it gets voted up enough to play on television.
Current is not on all cable channels and cable is a cost.

I'm not trying to dismiss Current so much as I am trying to make a point that they are BORROWING the internet's "current" techology and making it retrofit a commercial television niche when podcasting by its very nature is not bound by those constraints.
