My bush supporting neighbor
A model citizen, church goer and all about 100% red blooded all american who put up anti-Kerry signs in his lawn last year and who has magnets on his pick-em-up truck and honest to god supports the troops although he has never served (he's in his mid 30's)l. A man the neighborhood kids can look up to, got a DUI. It must be Clinton's fault. Does Hallmark have a card - Sorry about your Drunk Driving Arrest, get sober soon?

2. No, but
the court will give him a dance card he can get signed at mandatory AA meetings. (That's what my recovering husband calls them anyway)

After he goes to court, you can ask him about his dance card.

6. This is a decision point, brother.
Love your neighbor as yourself or be a jerk like him?

7. I haven't said a word to him
about it and I don't intend to. Its between him and the law. We maintain a cordial relationship but we won't be fishing together anytime soon.

She's just getting into the card-making thing. What do you think is a fair price?

15. It would be soooooooo tempting ...
... to put a sign in my yard reading: "Drive carefully! A drunk driver lives in this neighborhood."

I doubt if I'd actually do it ... but it would be nice to fantasize about.

16. in colorado, .020 is a DWAI
.020 can be one drink in the last three hours for the average adult.

has anyone on this thread ever driven within three hours of having a beer or wine with a meal or an after-work cocktail? glass houses, people.

1 drink in one hour can give you a DUI at .080

the vast majority of DUI arrests are in effect a random negative lottery.

It is estimated that from 9 PM until 2 AM that as many as 75% of all drivers on I-25 through Denver are technically guilty of at least DWAI.

I do not defend driving under the influence, but our current cultural and legal milieu does nothing to solve the problem.
