JUST GOT A NEW PRIUS (..AND IF YOU WANT ONE...)

I got my new Prius this weekend and boy am I in love. This car is everything it is cracked up to be, lots of room, get up and go, super comfortable seating and a great tax write off in addition to the obvious.

1. Hubby is seriously thinking of giving up his Lexus for one (we are

Toyota fans all the way, I own a Camry). He considers them luxurious enough for his taste, even--and he's a lap-of-affordable-luxury type.

He's away on business now, but when he gets back, we just may do it.

2. We've had our Prius since January 2004

and it's the best car we've ever had! Still running faultlessly after 30,000 miles. And we don't wince too much when we pull into the gas station.

I don't know what the Prius supply situation is like right now. It was hard to find one a year ago. We got ours at a very out of the way dealership, for under MSRP. All it took was a willingness to call every Toyota dealer in the state, and then to start on the neighboring state. Voila! In Gallup, New Mexico, Amigo Toyota was happy to make a deal. . . . So if anyone out there is looking for a Prius, try dealerships that might be off the beaten track.

4. It's is not easy to find them

it was just a fluke that I found one - it was the only one they had and I practically had to knock other people over to get it.

the dealership is very easy to work with, as I had a trade-in also, and came out really good - so if anyone in this area is looking, they are getting two more in in the next two weeks - you could get on their list first

I took it on it's first long car trip last weekend and wasn't at all disappointed. It was really fun NOT having to fill up every day!
