180 acres offered for Camp Casey!
check this out in the iconoclast...
http://198.65.14.85/News/2005/31-40/33news11.htm

"According to Dianne Wilson, a local landowner has offered one acre on one side of the road and 180 acres on the other side of the road for use by Camp Casey. Although the exact location has yet to be announced, it is apparently closer to the Bush ranch than the current location of Camp Casey. It is being speculated that Camp Casey will be moved soon."

!!Woodstock 2005 becomes a reality!!

Might it be better to send the cards right to Camp Casey, just to keep this person safely anonymous and keep the freeps from annoying him with hatemail?

32. Methinks CNN got that all wrong. However, an entry from Truthout's blog
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 03:23 PM by DinahMoeHum
by Scott Galindez (August 16, 2:20 AM entry) did mention the piece of land Camp Casey could move to...

Link:
http://www.truthout.org/cindy.shtml

(snip)
"The highlight of the day had to be the pig farmers. These three old boys looked like they walked off the ranch down the road (wouldn't want to compare anyone with the rancher across the street). These guys were from West Texas. They are very angry with the play rancher down the road a few miles and are behind Cindy one hundred percent. These guys drove their tractors to DC to protest "The Pig Tax." One of these farmers happened to have a cousin with a ranch closer to George and land that Camp Casey can move to. Like Cindy said, another Camp Casey miracle ..."

I would like to see a few permanent roadside memorial markers posted outside Bush's house. He should have an accountability moment every time he comes or goes.

Someone should sprinkle Texas red poppies along the road.

I hope the organizers are strict about not screwing up that generous citizen's land...maybe they could collect a buck or two from everyone to pay for any cleanup or unintended damage, just to keep things pleasant.

45. Please keep in mind that 58% of the American people opposed the Iraq war
BEFORE the invasion. I'll never forget that stat. Feb. '03. Across the board in all polls. Before all the lies were exposed; before the full horror and costs of it were known. 58%! OF COURSE there are plenty of good people out there--the majority of Americans who didn't trust Bush even then, and all of us who have been disempowered and DISENFRANCHISED by Bushite Republicans and their damned voting machine companies, with their damned secret, proprietary programming code for tabulating our votes. If Bush HAD CONSULTED the American people, this war would not have happened. If Bush WERE BEHOLDEN to the American people, this war would not have happened. And if we had had a TRANSPARENT, VERIFIABLE ELECTION, this war would be over!

I don't believe in "red" states and "blue" states. I DON'T KNOW how any state voted. I really don't. And I suspect that a whole lot of what we call "red" states--including Texas!--may not have voted for Bush. Our brothers and sisters in the so-called "red" states are among the most disenfranchised people in the country--with the worst, most corrupted election systems, and consequently, the most disempowering, mean, and anti-progressive laws. Don't judge them until you can verify how they voted!

Artist: The Beatles Lyrics
Song: Revolution Lyrics

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait

Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
Ah

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah...

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
all right, all right, all right
all right, all right, all right

If this really is Larry's cousin, he must be mortified that ol' Larry was the public representative of their family. I'd worry that Homeland Security or the SS would seize this fella's property for 'security reasons', but with all of the media attention, that's highly unlikely. Junior would see his approval ratings bust through the basement of single digits, if he did that.

She has offered the 1 acre space to Cindy. She owns 180 acres on the other side of the road, but has not offered it. I believe the 180 acres was mentioned simply to indicate she owns both sides of the road and therefore there will be no close neighbors to complain.

the Larrys feel vindicated because we have moved Camp Casey? Yes, it is closer to the shrub's "ranch", and I think I saw that it is across the street from his church. Cindy and the protesters will hopefully be safe from crackers like Larry, but in some way, I can't help but feel that we have lost the "war of the portapotties".

It has now been confirmed. Camp Casey will be moved tomorrow. During an interview with this reporter, Cindy Sheehan indicated that a landowner has agreed to allow Camp Casey to move onto his property, which will put the camp closer to the Bush ranch. More on this as it develops.

47. Has anyone suggested that Camp Casey put up some crosses for the
Iraqi dead? Over 100,000 innocent Iraqis were slaughtered in the initial bombing alone, according to the British doctors' report. And more have died since then--not to mention the tortured, the injured, the sick and the displaced and fearful. 100,000 crosses cannot be done. There is not enough space available, and it is too big a task. Also, the cross may not be the right memorial since most would have been Muslims. But what about a special shrine or notice of some kind, that we also honor the Iraqis who have died in this unjust war, to be placed somewhere among the crosses?

I hope someone will pass this idea along to folks at the Camp.

I think it's important to let the Iraqi people know that the majority of Americans did not want this war, have no ill will toward them, and feel great sorrow for their losses, and that we are as trapped as they are by leaders who don't listen to us, and policies that have been forced upon us.*

*(My mantra: 58% of the American people opposed the Iraq war BEFORE the invasion. Feb. '03. Also, 63% of the American people oppose torture UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. May '04. The great majority of Americans disapprove of these policies!)

48. Elisabeth Bumiller writes that it is 300 acres!
"Sheehan's supporters said she would probably move "Camp Casey," her increasingly crowded roadside encampment named after her son, to a 300-acre, or 120-hectare, piece of property even closer to Bush's ranch. Her supporters said that the owner of the property was sympathetic to their cause, but that they could not release his name until the deal was complete."
