Why do you think RWers can't spell?
Every time I either visit a RW site or read snippets pasted from a RW site, it is FULL of misspelled words.

What's up with that?

Or is my observation too HUGH!!!!!!!!!111????

2. Do they have a spellchecker installed on FR?
If there is one...well I guess that's little excuse if you expect folks to take one seriously.

Then again I put in the occasional typo too.

26. I think they have Spellchucker(tm) that "freeperizes" words just in case
some one "misspells" a word correctly. It adds an "o" to 'lose' for example. Your experience and mine reveals that with all the braindead fucks over there even THAT bit of technology doesn't get a workout.

It does seem to be a naturally occurring phenomenon, though.

Is it an anti-education thing?

Or is it that all of the freepers who can spell are already working for rich and powerful repukes, and they don't have time to post at freeperville?

TV, general ignorance and mistrust of anything remotely intellectual, etc.

Then the vote for public officials that make it worse.... a downward spiral!

31. thanks for that, i'm
a terrible 'speller', and not strong on 'grammer' either, my thoughts run faster than my fingers, and my courage to press "post" diminishes after each 'replace' or 'ignore' click on spell check.

But that might be a 'signal' that i should shut up.

And i'm about as far left as one can get without going full circle and becoming 'right' again.

(did you spell rhather wrong intentionally for those of us spelling impared lefties?)

46. dyslexia, often
emphasizes getting the 'gist' of your message out, with less push on 'technicalities' i have 2 dyslexic sons, and i could read at age 3, but can't spell to save my life.-

Ever read much 'early american' literature??? the spelling there is pretty ... hit or miss... and yet the message comes across.- Many super-intelectuals were dyslexic, and many of them were anything near 'right-wing'. OR poor.

Sterotyping those who have spelling diabilities as white trailer trash, isn't very funny to me.- but i'm sensitive, and i want to stay that way. (Jewel)

Ever notice the Beatles and the Beetle are spelled different- i didn't till just recently- (duhhhh!!!) BEAT-le. Those poor insects have been subjected to misspelling most of my life.

;-)

47. Mom was a special ed teacher so she dealt with this
stuff professionally as well as personally.

My Nana told me she received a note from mom after her wedding thanking her for the lovely "bowels". (bowls)

I can also remember sitting with mom working on girl scout cookie orders and we had some posters nearby and she kept staring at one and said that it looked like the word NOW was spelled funny. It wasn't. but it just looked that way to her.

Now me, I actually am a very good speller. Mother and I determined long ago that people are either wired for it or not. She based this on the way I leanred to read so young. My kids (5 & 7) can already read Harry Potter and are great spellers... so far. Their two uncles, though, can't spell to save their souls. (My brother and hubby's brother.)

25. Low socio economic status often equates with poor school performance.
Spelling correctly is too "highfalutin" and liberal. In other words many of them are "D" and "F" students. What they don't know is that people like Hannity, Coulter, and Limbaugh look down on them and snicker because the wingers take in and believe their every word. "Suckers!"

45. I think it's because they don't read.
They probably weren't good spellers to begin with, but I remember an English teacher telling me years ago that you had to read everyday to remember your grammar and spelling because if you don't you will slowly forget. If they even read the editorial pages of their newspaper it would help.

48. They don't read a lot of books, and hence, have never been...
...exposed to a wide vocabulary. And books that they might read, such as "Armageddon's Coming, So Make Your Millions Now!", aren't exactly masterpieces of literature.
