CNN reporting their computers, plus NYT, ABC, down: Windows 2000
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 05:26 PM by DeepModem Mom
Say it's a worm. Anybody else having problems?

Saying problem apparently widespread -- reports from Germany, Asia, also.

Say Microsoft has had the information 48 hours. Saying FBI was not aware? Admitting information is muddy and reporting difficult.

See post 5 -- they think it is the Zotob worm.

Now saying may not be Zotob.

One article I read said that about 48% of businesses in the US still use Windows 2000.

Wipe the crosses off the evening news with ANYTHING!!

Computer viruses, drought, Israeli pull-out, plane crashes (do they come in threes).

Urgent, get Crawford and last night incident off evening reports, under all circumstances.

need anything at their site? Can this be a way for them to gain that access to millions upon millions of computer?

23. No microsoft already has access to 100million+ computers
They don't need a new virus to do it. If anything this raises the profile of linux, and would make companies think of switching.

This is a virus writer exploiting microsoft's lazy code writing.

I don't know why in the world they don't have other things besides Windows, in this day and age. Some super secret Ultra Windowslike Operating System For News Organizations and Governments or something.

I mean, I know Billy Gates and all the computer makers probably provide them with free stuff/discount deals... but they *know* about viruses and hackers.

It would make sense that they would be running at least some of their stuff on something other than Windows.

:eyes:

And these people are making double and triple my salary? Psch!

Bush supporter mowes down crosses with a pipe and a chain tied to his truck in the dead of night on the Texas prairie.

Just beautiful. Better than Aruba, everyone turn off your computers, QUICK. Stop sharing information and spreading real news, it could be dangerous to your computers health.

Maybe some little hacker just got sick of MSM. Anyone hear anything else about just who is being hit?

Patches are sometimes worse than the problems. The patch only came out last week. They probably have thousands of servers to patch.
