I'm only going to be there on saturday and saturday night, but at least I'll be there.

I will be violating my own travel rule. I usually demand that I have to be someplace twice as long as it took to get there. Unfortunately, it's going to take me 24 hrs to get there and back and I'll only be in Crawford for 24 hours!

14. Update (sniff, sniff). My cohort bailed. Her husband talked her out of

it. Or at least guilt tripped her into bailing. I'm so bummed, I'm actually kinda stunned.

My sister just started her new job THIS WEEK (actually today) and can't do it.

My mom was pretty set on going for the trip (freakin' hippies, gotta love 'em), but we need to find arrangements for my elderly grandmother. She has her full faculties and is doing great physically, but still kind of frail and suffered heart failure 9 months ago.

So, that's it DU. I'm down, but not out.

Either way - we are planning a big vigil in KC tomorrow night for Cindy. The www.moveon.org website shows over 200 people "signed" up. I got the email from 2 different people who didn't sign up, and neither of whom have done any such protesting since the 60's (ie my mom's friends). I have talked to about a dozen of my friends who plan on attending - none have done any such protesting since earth day back in the late '80s and early '90s. You know what? I think it's going to a great showing. And this DU'er will be there with a camera to report back.
