Larry proves it, Right Wingers hate Jesus and America |
|
They hate our constitution, they hate our freedoms, they hate our history.
They hate Jesus, cause they know that he doesn't agree with them.
from the Sermon on the Mount:
Matthew 5:3-12: 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
I think that the words of Jesus expose fundies better than anything.
They really hate number 4 right now.

2. Actually they like to quote the Bible rather than follow Jesus.... |
|
They like the parts about stoning people to death. They like the Focus on the Family parts where the father is the supreme authority and all education is done by beating your women and children repeatedly until they listen. They love the fire and brimstone and torment and pestilence applied for any transgression--just as long as it applies to somebody else.

4. I consider myself an athiest, but |
|
the teachings of Jesus, if the Fristians were to actually follow them, would make the world a more decent place.
So simple, treat others as you would be treated (paraphrasing, of course).
The assholes are blinded by their own radical fundamentalist version, though.

6. I know, Christians are the reason I do not consider myself Christian |
|
If it were all about Jesus I'd have no problems with it.
I consider myself a Christian Buddhist Jedi.

5. Actually, the two Larrys and Shrub are missing brain cells from |
|
enjoying too much sauce and snort in their youth. Really, they can't think anymore so their actions are based on relfexes and emotions, the main emotion operative here is irrational anger.
