Camp Casey Special Event Ham Station
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 10:17 PM by 5X
Saturday evening I will be setting up a ham radio station
at Camp Casey, Crawford, Texas. A special event station in
ham radio jargon is to commemorate a special occasion or place.
Camp Casey certainly qualifies. I am planning on operating
on the 20 meter band, I will try and be around 14.280MHz, you
will need to look around that frequency to find me. I will try
and transmit location and purpose regularly to make it easier to
find. Any and all stations are welcome to check in, if you have
a ham license for that frequency, of course.

If other Camp Caseys from around the country want to join me,
that would be fantastic.
My plan is to be on the air from 6 to 9pm central time.
Please tune in, or drop in if you are in Crawford, and help out.

If you only have a short wave radio, use SSB upper side band to listen.

3. bookmarking!!! and a kick
I have a shortwave radio with SSB. I'll dig out to try to tune in. Good luck.

Any ham stuff i ever hear on the SSB band is usually very right wing. Hope they don't try to step on your broadcast.

4. Will try to listen to you on my SSB Grundig YB400....
of course, now that BPL is coming, there may come the day when hams are screwed off the air due to interference, as well as the BBC.....

5. You're using LSB on 20 meters?
Convention is Upper Sideband.

I'll give you a shout. Maybe the Art Bell Lovers won't run us off the band TOO quickly...

7. Oh, who knows?
Come up on frequency saying you're the Camp Casey SES and I bet it won't be long before you start hearing "HAY-LOW! HAY-LOW!" and "This is ILLEGAL! Yer a dad-gum BOOTLAIGER! I cain't find ye in my 1967 'Callbook'! Yer a BOOTLAIGER!!! Ah'm callin' th' EFF-SEE-SEE!!!"

I've heard it all in 35 years on the air..
Hope I hear you and work you!
