around him.

Yes he's to blame, however is he not being used as a distraction as well?

We sure are getting alot of information about that bike ride with Lance, arent we? Arent there some more important things potentially taking place tomorrow, perhaps that Dick Cheney is involved in?

Seems it should make others a bit interested of what else is going on behind the scenes by those around George Bush, who certainly appear to be the the ones creating policies and he's just the figure head that agrees with everything.

Would imagine George is following Dick and Dads orders, and as a prize he's getting the heat for their policies.

At the least the entire Administration deserves more focus and less focus on Georges bike riding. We all know by now he takes vacations and rides bikes. We should be more interested in what takes place when Bush isnt around perhaps. It also seems to be when he takes vacations all hell seems to break loose, or loosER.

17. Seymore Hersh is the best guest since the new digs.
It always seems like there is never enough time for the good ones. It really grates my cheese that he gave Santorum three segments and this guy only one.

The thing about Saudi Arabia and Venezuela talking to each other is frightening in the respect that, if they wanted to hurt us where most Americans live, in our car they could do untold damage if they are in collusion for pricing or worst oil embargo.

18. Hersh was amazing !!!!!
this is cross-posted from GD-Politics:

he said we took all the money ($3 billion?) we confiscated from Saddam and used it to "fix the elections" in Iraq and in Afghanistan ...

he said the only thing we can do now is get out of there as fast as possible ...

he also said that it is widely believed the insurgency is preparing a massive assault sometime soon and they might even try to drive the US out of the "Green Zone" and take over Baghdad ...

folks, there's just no nice way to say this: virtually all of our elected leaders and most of the rest of our government are setting us up for a catastrophic failure in Iraq ... while they tapdance around playing their little political games, our country is going to suffer a devastating failure ... we'll be paying the price for this tragedy for generations ...

It's becoming so freakin' treachorous over there,...all because the war-profiteers have INSISTED on occupation and privatization and outright fraud. It's goshdamn disgusting!!!

28. that's exactly the problem with "staying until Iraq is stable"
how much longer are WE going to let this go on ???

it's like our entire government is suffering from mass hypnosis ... no one, i mean NO ONE, honestly believes ANY progress if being made in the training of Iraqi troops ... the republicans know it's nothing but lies and propaganda and so do the Democrats ...

so why do they continue to play these games ?????

is such tragedy really being allowed to continue for something as selfish as politics ???

25. Incredible what Hersh was saying, but it's too bad Stewart is such a lousy
interviewer. The Daily Show is great, but John Stewart is a terrible interviewer when the guest is not there for laughs. When a guy like Hersh comes on and makes these extremely important statements, the best thing a host can do is shut up. Several times when Hersh would make a statement that we would like to hear more about, Stewart stopped Hersh cold by either injecting a snappy one-liner or changing the subject.

This is the second time I've seen Sy Hersh on The Daily Show, and both times John Stewart botched the interview. I think Stewart's been watching Tweety too much.

That being said, what I take from Sy Hersh's statements is that World War III is under way. Things are going to get a fuck of a lot worse before they get better. I wonder how many Americans are even dimly aware that the nations of the world are busy positioning themselves for a great war to control the remaining supplies of oil (it's always very profitable to be a supplier when the demand of a necessity exceeds supply). I'd like to see a show of hands for all the countries that will align with Bush's U.S. when things get nasty. So far, it seems most of the world is positioning themselves against us.

Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 01:13 PM by halobeam
(three segments long) with Hersch if he were emailed the suggestion by 75,000 DU members? This interview had extraordinary potential and a three minute egg timer was the culprit.
