Guns surrendered at airports |
|
You know it really amazes me that here we are nearly four years after 9/11 and people are trying to bring guns onto airplanes at a record pace. I mean how dumb do you have to be?
They've picked up over 700 firearms in the past 12 months, about 60 a month. That seemed like alot of guns, but when you think about the fact that they screen 2 million people a day it doesn't seem so bad. Yup. 2 million people a day. About 60 million in your average month. Yup. You've gotta be one in a million to be such a dumbass to try and bring a gun on a plane.
Oh and none of them were terrorists, btw.

Aren't you jumping to conclusions?
If you were planning to hijack a plane, and the security guards confiscated your weapon, would you admit that was your intent while they had you in the little room?

2. Ebay sells batches of knives and "assorted metal tools" |
|
that have been confiscated. You can get a good deal on 60 small swiss army knives, for example. Probably not guns, but still it's a lot of knives and pliers.

3. Whats really bad is that you CAN bring a gun on a plane |
|
Well, you can transport one a commercial flight.
Its very easy. Hard sided locked case, unloaded and you declare it at check in.
At your destination, it rolls off on carousel like any other luggage.
That easy. I do it about 6 or 7 times a year. (the only exception is NYC. They have some draconian rules that can trap you)
Why folks try to sneak one on, when a simple legal and free procedure is available is beyond me.
