LOL! Leno says the Wizard of Oz is like Washington today
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 10:49 PM by ih8thegop
"Cheney needss a heart, Bush needs a brain, and the Senate needs some courage."

"The only thing Bush checked out of a library is Laura"

"How many are glad they're writing a new constitution in Iraq?
How many wish they'd stop rewriting ours here?"

6. Leno did not vote for Bush thank you his only campaign contributions
have been to democrats and he calls himself a liberal.

If you want to rag him about Arnold, go ahead, but don't call him a Bush voter cause he's not.

9. No I just remember an interview with him saying that he was voting for
Kerry and advice to Kerry to make Bush look as stupid as possible in the debates.

www.newsmeat.com Doesn't have his contributions listed though.

However Jon Stewart giving $2000 to the Friends of Weiner campaign made me laugh.

13. Ironically, that's what it was originally.
The Wizard of Oz is, IIRC, an allegory for the agrarian populist movement of the late 1800's. I forget what each character represents but I think that the general idea is that when the populists finally achieved something that was supposed to be a political victory (i.e., Dorothy finding the Wizard in the Emerald City) they found themselves unable to enact the changes they wanted (i.e., the Wizard not being able to return Dorothy to Kansas).
