A local story on Touch Screen voting machines today??? |
|
No shit, local angle and everything. I'll have to check the station's archives to flesh it out, but a local Prof is talking like he's read BBV.com. County Clerk says "Not to worry. The machines can't be tinkered with except at the factory (duh!) and in the room where they're stored. And this room has 2 locks, and a Republican has 1 key, and a Democrat the other key."
Yeah, and somebody has BOTH keys, because it's a door on a county-owned building. Bet the Janitor goes in every night to sweep.....
Drip....Drip....Drip.....

The individual elections supervisors are going to realize they are being set up.
Julie Rodenwald in San Luis Obispo figured it out pretty fast.
What Diebold is doing is saying the security is in the hands of the elections supervisor who "owns" the machines. They have no responsibility for making their product secure.
So, when that SLO file ended up on the Diebold FTP site, it was the elections supervisor who failed in HER job, not Diebold's security. Rodenwald caught on really fast that she was being set up to take the fall for that file. It became advantageous to her for find out WHO did put that file there.
How long will it take for the janitor with both keys to figure out he's being set up as the fall guy for the lack of security in Diebold's machines??
