I posted on the thread about this photo the other day and I analyzed the body language in the photo. Then to see The Grim Reaper--too funny!

roads are named after original settler, ie. that's the road to the Mattlage's.

13. Read the article. Fred does not own the land that Cindy will be on.
What is going on? They start with 212 additional acres and end up with only one acre?

That offer has changed and campers will be restricted to the one acre.

41. Hold yer hosses, podner!
(No, I ain't an authentic Texan, but then neither is Dubya).

Here's from the Texas Iconoclast:

>
>
The property he is offering is co-owned by his brothers Karl and Mark and sister, Patricia. Brother Mark actually owns the one acre tract where the new camp site will be. This one acre is at the corner of Prairie Chapel Road and Camen Church Road. Directly across from the one acre, the Mattlages own a 212-acre tract, which they will make available for parking purposes.

The 212-acre tract is to be opened today at 10 a.m. by Mattlage. He is asking that Camp Casey supporters have a person at the gate of the property at all times due to the fact that there are cattle on the site. Gates will have to be kept shut.

I think I need to call the Peace House and see if I should. I'm very confused about if I can even camp at the camp now. I really dont wnat to add to the constant calls... you have any ideas?

(Im flying from NY by the way so knowing whether I should bring my tent or not will help tremendously)

Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 09:08 PM by frictionlessO
I'd love to meet you... One side benefit is getting to meet so many other DU'ers.

I am supposed to hug Cindy (if I get a chance, which I doubt since I plan on not bugging her at all) for Pam from icasualties.org, Pam is so full of hope now because of what Cindy has done, and that really really means something to a woman who has counted casualties for the rest of the world in nearly every free hour of time she has since the war started... I'd actually call it something of a miracle (researching the dead and wounded tends to make for a bit of pessimism)...

I can't even begin to say how many people I knwo that are a little jealous as well, so many people want to be there.

ok ok... I'll await your word.

Thanks again for what you are doing, its wonderful!

I've been dancing around like a kid. LOL!

I really don't think you'd be bugging Cindy to give her a hug. She's being put through the wringer by so many people lately and I feel having we supportive people around her is a good and healing thing.

I can't wait to meet you. :hi:

34. An acre is about 75% of a football field
It's 43,560 sq feet. That's not too small if everything is organized correctly.

An RSVP request would have been handy. :P

I live on 5 acres, so I know 1 doesn't sound like too much. At the same time I've stayed in overflow camping areas before where we fit quite a few warm bodies into one acre.

I'll set it up in my MS Streets & Trips. I already have Crawford set up in my weatherBug Pro (temp 84.8F, humidity 61%, wind 0, dew point 71F, and bar. 29.91"). I'll be monitoring this closely all month (or until Dubya throws in the towel).
