3. Truman never went to college.
He was a crude, tactless bastard.

And he is one of my favorite Democrats, because he wasn't afraid to call a spade a goddamn spade. Truman was three times the man Dumbya will EVER be, and for Dimson to liken himself to such a man is blasphemous.

4. To paraphrase another politician,
"I knew Harry Truman, and you Mr. Bush, are no Harry Truman."

6. Bush/Truman "the buck stops here"
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 08:00 PM by cory817
Just compare Truman's "The buck stops here" slogan acknowledging that ultimately the president is responsible for anything whether its fair or not and proudly accepting that, with Bush's blame anyone else no apologies no accountability excuse making on everything from the economy 9/11 deficits Iraq gas prices whatever.

7. Howard Fineman said "Truman said the Buck Stops Here,
in this admin, most of the time there isn't even a buck!"

I thought Howard had a GREAT comeback to Hitchins somparrison of Shrub to Truman.
