Pics of the vigil in my town!
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 08:16 PM by zippy890
Ipswich, MA about 40 miles north of Boston

I'd guess about 80 people, downtown at a busy intersection - we sang a few songs and shot the breeze with each other.

I'd say half the people joined in as they went by and saw us gathered there.Lots of friendly waves & honks as people went by -- no negative reactions at all! It was great.

8. Why?
One of my ancestors left Ipswich around 1720 and headed south - wound up in Carolina. What ever possessed him to leave such a warm, lovely, caring place. Is it too late for me to go home?

10. Cripes, you're in Ipswich?
Wow.

I used to work at the Italian restaurant (yes, the crazy one) right next to, um, is it Marty's doughnuts?

Geez, I miss Ipswich. I think I know some of those people.

11. Beautiful Ipswich!
We had a lovely vigil in Andover ourselves - I counted over 60 people !

Let this be the beginning of the end.

12. Nice pictures. Good turnout.
There were about 70 vigils in NYC today. I attended the one at Rockefeller Center with about 200 people.

Two hours earlier, Code Pink had protested at Rockefeller Center from 4:30 to 5:30. There were about 100 people for that, and CBS showed up at the end.
