The BushReich's "Big Lie"
I think this should be a must read!

http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Big-Lie

The oft-cited "Big Lie Theory" originated with Adolf Hitler's 1925 autobiography Mein Kampf. In that book Hitler wrote that people came to believe that Germany lost World War I in the field due to a propaganda technique used by Jews who were influential in the German press. This technique, he believed, consisted of telling a lie so "colossal" that no one would believe anyone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously". The first documented use of the phrase "big lie" is in the corresponding passage: "in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility".¹

Later, Joseph Goebbels put forth a slightly different theory which has come to be more commonly associated with the phrase big lie. In this theory, the English are attributed with using a propaganda technique where in they had the mendacity to "lie big" and "stick to it".²

(snipping)

The phrase was also used (on page 51) in a report prepared during the war by the Office of Strategic Services in describing Hitler's psychological profile <1>

"His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it. " - OSS report page 51 <2>

I'm sure this sounds familiar to us all, I just can now cite actual sources for Karl Rove's playbook.

1. Ah, yes, the reliable old classics
Unlike Bush, I suspect Karl Rove DOES read books more complicated than "My Pet Goat."

Would that qualify?

3. That's yet another page from the Bushreich's Nazi playbook
And an appropriate passage that would fit:

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." -- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

4. Thanks for the lead.
I Googled the excerpt from that OSS Report and found a little more analysis here: http://www.vex.com/~nizkor/ftp.py?people/h/hitler.adolf/oss-papers/text/oss-profile-03-02

6. The similarities are downright frightening, aren't they?
The more you read of the OSS report, the more you get that sense of deja vu.

5. I suspected they were using that book before 9/11.
I knew all about the Reichstag Fire, and I'd read Hitler's book almost 30 years ago. On the evening of 9/11 someone on a democratic website ask me what I thought about 9/11 and I told them to go and read about the Reichstag fire and I even posted the links. The lady I was chatting with that night, is the person who soon after 9/11 told me about DU.

I was in Germany in the early 70-71 and I could still see signs of the massive destruction that Hitler's "Third Reich" had brought down on his people. I stayed at the IG Farben complex in Frankfurt while I was there. The IG Farben company, was one of the many huge corporations that helped Hitler create the Third Reich. IG Farben was the company that made the gas used to murder the people in the death camps. Prescott Bush was a player in IG Farben and was caught red handed carrying on business as usual with the enemy, when the German Armies in North Africa were killing American soldiers, with war materials Prescott helped make possible.

The people of Europe recognize clearly what the neocons are. That's why countries like Germany, France and Russia were against the invasion of Iraq. They saw through Bush's lies.

The super rich people in the UK are involved in the neocon conspiracy to form a one world government. The elites in the UK plan to share the role of masters over the masses with the elites in the us, or they too would never have backed Bush in the invasion of Iraq.

7. The story of American spin and Nazi propaganda...(Ivy Lee)
Polishing I. G. Farben's Public Image

This miserable picture of pre-war military preparation was known abroad and had to be sold — or disguised — to the American public in order to facilitate Wall Street fund-raising and technical assistance on behalf of I. G. Farben in the United States. A prominent New York public relations firm was chosen for the job of selling the I.G. Farben combine to America. The most notable public relations firm in the late 1920s and 1930s was Ivy Lee & T.J. Ross of New York. Ivy Lee had previously undertaken a public relations campaign for the Rockefellers, to spruce up the Rockefeller name among the American public. The firm had also produced a syncophantic book entitled USSR, undertaking the same clean-up task for the Soviet Union — even while Soviet labor camps were in full blast in the late 20s and early 30s.

From 1929 onwards Ivy Lee became public relations counsel for I. G. Farben in the United States. In 1934 Ivy Lee presented testimony to the House Un-American Activities Committee on this work for Farben.15 Lee testified that I.G. Farben was affiliated with the American Farben firm and "The American I.G. is a holding company with directors such people as Edsel Ford, Walter Teagle, one of the officers of the City Bank .... " Lee explained that he was paid $25,000 per year under a contract made with Max Ilgner of I.G. Farben. His job was to counter criticism levelled at I.G. Farben within the United States. The advice given by Ivy Lee to Farben on this problem was acceptable enough:

In the first place, I have told them that they could never in the world get the American people reconciled to their treatment of the Jews: that that was just foreign to the American mentality and could never be justified in the American public opinion, and there was no use trying.

In the second place, anything that savored of Nazi propaganda in this country was a mistake and ought not to be under. taken. Our people regard it as meddling with American affairs, and it was bad business...more...
