We were at an intersection and there were about 100 people or so at each corner of the intersection. Some local media showed up and I got interviewed by the local paper. It was an excellent show of support for Cindy Sheehan.

Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 06:20 AM by grrl62
it was a fantastic turnout! we were very pleased. diverse bunch!

only one disrupter - frat boy screaming from BIG SUV "God bless Amuuurrraaacaa" so we all said "God BLESS America" back.

the event was silent. it was very moving.

i have no pics to share, but i know many were taken.

there were at least 2 reporters present.

17. Indeed I was. But I have "certain difficulties" when it comes to cameras..
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 11:40 PM by dicksteele
I was most definitely "standing right there"; Supernova found me without even trying.
But that is a long, silly story, best left for another day...
on another board...
in a galaxy far, far away.....

My sweetie is off in Wisconsin, and took my belovedly antique little Nikon 4500 with her, so I have no pics of tonights vigil.

So, I just want to give a big "THANK YOU" to everyone who had a camera
at Brightleaf Square tonight, and recorded the turnout for posterity...

But, please, let's all remember that we can have MORE impact with
our FOLLOWUP!

3 Tv Stations were there, and a reporter from the Herald-Sun;
We all need to see what they said in their reporting,
and RESPOND to it!
Post to the TV websites; LTTE about the Herald-Sun story tomorow!

POLITICS is like GOLF; we need a good "follow-through"!
Watch the media reports, then RESPOND to them!

11. I'm in this picture! lol, sort of
I'm the woman to the left of the guy with the big sign. (I'm holding a sign and a purse with a green handle).

My 11 year old daughter was interviewed by local abc news but I don't think they showed it, or I missed it. I did get a photo of her being interviewed though for her to keep. ;)

12. Your daughter was holding a sign that said
"Bring Them Home Alive" (or something like that?)

I think I remember seeing her.

13. Yes, we all took turns holding a sign of SwampRat's Artwork
It was of a soldier crying that said, bring our troops home, ALIVE.

We had other signs too.

350+! woot!

14. Excellent! I just reviewed my pics and am not happy with them.
It is very difficult to shoot in the dark with candles along 6 lanes of traffic.

15. I have a few pretty good shots...
But I don't know how to post them. Do I need to load them onto a photobucket site? (My website is for our business, I don't want to post my pictures there).

19. if you are a newbie, Photobucket is the way to go!
If you type with more than 2 of yer fingers,
you can be posting any pics on your hard drive 90 seconds after you
first click on the Photobucket website!

I DON'T type well, and I read slow....it took me almost FIVE minutes
to get my pics on the Internets!

22. It really is JUST that easy!
We have a DU member down in Crawford, 'TexasLady'...

She had alot of photos from Camp Casey a few days ago, and had exceeded
her bandwidth allotment,
so I started a thread at 3 am ,
asking DU members to take 5 minutes
to open some new acounts for her,
(and PM her the usernames and passwords)

60 minutes later, she had 30 new FREE accounts, and her photos
were all over the internets!

Thank GOD I didn't start the thread at 3:00 in the afternoon;
we might have CRASHED DU and Photobucket!
