Vigil for Cindy Sheehan in Delaware, Ohio
I was doing live sound for a band tonight on a restaurant patio in downtown Delaware, Ohio. Right across the street from us, a rather large group (perhaps 50-75?) with Cindy Sheehan signs held a vigil. Many honking horns of support as people drove by. The band is an oldies outfit, but they moved their one relevant song ("Find the Cost Of Freedom") earlier in the set by way of serenading the group.

Columbus TV news has stories tonight on similar vigils around the area.

5. Not sure about the pizza place.
I'm actually from Columbus. Delaware looks like a great place to live, though. Oh, and I forgot to mention that the band segued into "Teach Your Children" after "Find" for a 1-2 punch!

4. I've got friends there
Used to co-own a restaurant near there; this is great to hear. What restaurant were you doing sound for? Have they rebuilt Bun's?

6. It was the Brown Jug restaurant.
This was the band's third Wednesday gig on the patio there.

Bun's is back! And restored to its former glory.

7. Delaware is a really pretty little city
I've driven through it on the way to Columbus to visit my brother. From US 23, you can see the campus of the Wesleyan College there, which looks nice. All the buildings in downtown and on the campus look like old european ones.

8. The band was honored!
I'm from the band (Rusty Strings) that played in Delaware, and let me just say that it was an honor to play those songs for the vigil-ites! I'm a DU member, obviously, but didn't realize there was anything going on last night (guess I was preoccupied with the gig!). So it was a big surprise to see all the people gathered just across the street from us. We've been playing those songs all our lives, but this is the 1st time we've been able to play for a real protest!

So, thanks Delaware gang - you gave us a chance and a reason to stand up and be counted. Hope we gave you some musical encouragement!

Jack
