Does the * admin's lack of response thus far with regard to....
Cindy Sheehan parallel the Kerry Campaign's lack of response to the Swiftboaters? (Except for the fact that Swiftboater's case was based on a pack of lies, of course.)

By the time the * admin responds, it may be incredibly difficult, even with the dirty tricks of Karl Rove, to get things turned around again.

1. It's a bad analogy. You're talking about tactics/strategy I know, but
the Swifties were a smear and lie campaign created by Rove.

Cindy is a mom of a dead Marine who wants answers from the prez.

I know you are getting at the strategy of responding or not responding etc. but it's difficult to get past the incongruity of the situations.

2. He can't respond now. It would show "lack of resolve"
and "weakness". Cindy is playing the vanity of that rat bastard like a fiddle. bush is a truly tragic figure in the most historic sense of the word.

3. I think they don't know what to do
They never admit they were wrong. Never. Doing so now would be a bad thing for them. Meeting with her is just as good as saying they were wrong about everything. I think they are damned if they do and damned if they don't so they might as well stick with what got them where they are right now.

Not to mention, Bush is so insulated from everything. He's oblivious about anything that really goes on, he has no worldview or any conception of what it is like to be a common man. He's spoiled, effete and intellectually incurious. He's also a very cold and unsympathetic person. He was raised to be like that. So Cindy's pain is far out of the realm of anything he knows about. That his handlers keep him so sheltered only adds to that.

5. It's probably just my perception, but I don't think their attempted
"swiftboating" of Cindy has been as effective as their "swiftboating" of Kerry. I don't think that as many people are buying the attempts to discredit Cindy.

Like I said, that's just my perception.

10. I hope you are right.
But the f*ckers are so good at what they do. I mean they made half the country think the moron in chief is some kind of leader...
