4. Yes, and remember how they celebrated their birthday one year?
One year, President Clinton and Tipper Gore celebrated their birthdays by helping re-build one of the African-American churches in the South that had gotten burned. Remember there was a like a rash of church burnings some years back.

Those are the kind of wonderful, decent human beings they are: to spend their birthday helping rebuild churches. I love it! And they had Chelsea and the Gore children helping as well.

I tell you, I wish we had that kind of character and morale authority in the WH today.

6. Two points -
1)I still think he looks really youthful, even despite his medical issues of the past year or so; NEXT year, he should start turning 59 again for a good many years yet! Hard to imagine him as a sixtysomething!

2) I have to admit I  to the headline on your post there, it's such a nice sentiment, but it got taken over by the evil spirit of the DMV or something -- kinda bureaucratic, dontcha think?
