If only the war were more entertaining. Less of a downer. Perhaps then we could meet the people who are suffering and dying in it.

For all the talk of supporting the troops, they are a low priority for most Americans. If the nation really cared, the president would not be frolicking at his ranch for the entire month of August. He'd be back in Washington burning the midnight oil, trying to figure out how to get the troops out of the terrible fix he put them in.

Instead, Mr. Bush is bicycling as soldiers and marines are dying. Dozens have been killed since he went off on his vacation.

As for the rest of the nation, it's not doing much for the troops, either. There was a time, long ago, when war required sacrifices that were shared by most of the population. That's over.

3. Yet another great commentary
I know that this is like a flash back in time for others who lived through the Vietnam stupidity. j

What really bothers me is that it seems like bushie is now bored with this war and he is ready to move on to the next one.

The Afghanistan war was never really completed -- troops were rapidly moved from one war to the next. Has anyone seen an exit plan for Afghanistan. All the while many believed the B.S. line from the bushie gang . . . that Iraq was to blame for September 11,2001.

Now we are hearing the same god damned B.S. about Iran -- they could have, might have, nukes -- and from the inspectors on the ground -- NO THEY DON'T HAVE NUKES. Now we are hearing the perhaps Iran is providing the road side bombs . . . .

Bushie is bored -- he has a very short attention span and so he thinks he will be "loved" again if only he starts yet another war -- and the psychopaths that surround him who want the NEOCON dream of endless wars are going to tell him -- go start another war and everyone will love you again. Because people love a war Prez.

Bushie is a little tiny male -- in more ways than one.

I remember during the reign of Bush the father -- children whose fathers were in the military were most upset because Bush the elder always seemed to be sending the military to war during the holidays at a time when the kids really wanted their dads at home.

Like father like son.

4. The words of his acid-tongued mother came to mind when I read this.
"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths. "Oh, I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

Cindy Sheehan sits in a ditch by the side of the road in Texas mourning the loss of her son, and trying to prevent more senseless killings.

Acid-tongued babs won't waste her beautiful mind on body bags and death, and her degenerate offspring spends his days hidin' out at Compound W, occasionally sneaking out for a fund raiser, a bike ride, or to throw a first pitch at a little league game.

The bushes are filth.
