CNN giving props to FreeRepublic of all sites
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 10:36 AM by malmapus
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/08/17/bush.protests.ap/index.html

They talk about the vigils last night and then break into:

~snip~

FreeRepublic.com, which holds rallies to support troops and to counter anti-war demonstrations, planned to hold a pro-Bush rally Wednesday night at the same time and same Washington, D.C., park as a candlelight vigil there.

"For us the organizers of the vigil are phony-baloney, betraying the sacrifices that those, men and women make in Iraq, by demanding that we pull our troops out now and leave Iraq to go to hell," said Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the group's Washington, D.C., chapter. "This is a publicity stunt."

:wtf:

3. wait, is kristinn admitting that THEY are doing
a publicity stunt? Like when Galager, and Ankarlo, and others show up to get airtime for themselves to try to boost ratings on the AMradio? And Im sure it doesnt hurt FreeRepublic much either.

6. Yes, but look at this part in the article:
.
This from another AP article, shows how little support freepers have:

"FreeRepublic.com, which holds rallies to support troops and to counter anti-war demonstrations, held a pro-Bush rally Wednesday night with about 20 people at the same time and same Washington park as a candlelight vigil that drew about 300, said Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the group's Washington, D.C., chapter."

7. I think this might actually help us in the long run...
The more people go look at the Freepers,
the more they are gonna see US as the voice of reason.

The average person in this country is
gonna feel just as repulsed by that revolting site
as we do.
And God help the ones who actually sign on
and try to DISCUSS something!

Holding FR up as if they have credibility
will backfire when people actually see the freepers
in their natural habitat.

So I say:
"Keep it up, CNN! Keep telling America
that FR is the spokes-site for the repubs!"

9. Someone should point out to CNN that the pro-Cindy vigils were
organized by the grass-roots, while any pro-War parades are organized by the Republican Party and Scaife . . .
