Exclusive: Well known Mid-East expert questions omission of "Able Danger" by 9/11 Commission

Exactly one year before 9/11, a highly classified US Army intelligence unit known as "Able Danger" had already pinpointed four of the 9/11 hijackers. Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi, Khalid Almidhar, and Nawaf Alhamzi were identified as members of a "Brooklyn" al-Qaeda cell on a detailed chart that included visa photographs. The Army unit was established by the Special Operations Command in 1999 by Gen. Hugh Shelton, then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The startling revelations first surfaced in late June, from Congressman. Curt Weldon (R-PA), Vice-Chairman of the House Homeland Security and Armed Services Committees, citing at least three active military and intelligence officials. The story eventually made the New York Times headlines, thrice, the latest report on Tuesday quoting Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, who was a liaison with the Able Danger unit at the Defense Intelligence Agency. Lt. Col. Shaffer gave on the record confirmation of the details revealed by Rep. Weldon, but further stated that Able Danger had scheduled three meetings in the summer of 2000 with the FBI's Washington field office to share the findings and recommend to "take out that cell."

said he was going to regularize the status of gays in the military. Remember that? And the military brass balked at it. I recall thinking at the time, "But HE'S the commander in chief, goddammmit!" He should have fired them all. Truman would have! (He desegregated the military after WW II, and they didn't dare disobey the Prez!) I knew then that something was not right. Clinton had plenty of political cache. He was very popular. So it wasn't any lack of political support. The military refused an order! And what the hell could he do in that circumstance--but back off and do that ridiculous "don't ask, don't tell" thing. That leaves all gays in the military--and really EVERYONE in the military--open to blackmail; because, even if you're NOT gay, you can be set up and defamed, and kicked out if you can't disprove it. So you'd better shut your mouth and not criticize unjust war, or vast war profiteering and corruption, or torturing prisoners...

It was the very first thing that happened in the first Clinton term! The military disobeyed the president.

Mohamed Atta was protected from official scrutiny as part of an officially-protected cocaine and heroin trafficking network with ties to top political figures, including Republican officials Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris, and it was this fact—and not the “terrible lapses” of “weak on terror” Clinton Administration officials cited by Republican Congressman Curt Weldon—which shielded him from being apprehended before the 9.11 attack.

Weldon alleges that Pentagon lawyers rejected the military intelligence unit’s recommendation to apprehend Atta because he was in the country legally, and therefore information on him could not be shared with law enforcement.

But the “terrible lapses” cited by Weldon do not stem from the nonsensical assertion that Atta had a green card (he did not) which rendered him immune from military investigation but were the result of an officially-protected heroin trafficking operation being conducted on planes like those of Wally Hilliard, whose Lear jet flew "milk runs" down and back to Venezuela every week for 39 weeks in a row before finally running afoul of local DEA agents not been clued-in on the 'joke.'

Moreover the secret military intelligence operation which identified Mohamed Atta and three other hijackers as a threat a year before the 9.11 attack, called Able Danger, was by no means the first military intelligence investigation into the activities of the Hamburg cadre.

The real failing, which the 9-11 Commission refuses to embrace, is that the various agencies of the Federal Government had enough pieces of the puzzle that, if assembled into a coherent picture, could have prevented the attacks on 9-11. There was enough public info in 2000 about the need to focus on the threat posed by Bin Laden. Milt Bearden and I called for this in November of 2000. Richard Clarke presented National Security Advisor Condileeza Rice with a memo outling a more comprehensive strategy to find and finish Bin Laden. At the end of the day, the Bush Administration ignored the issue of terrorism until 10 September 2001, when the National Security Council held a meeting to discuss terrorism policy. Regrettably that meeting was too little, too late.

Rudi Dekkers has been regularly entering the U.S. illegally through the Bahamas, the MadCowMorningNews has learned.

 In an effort to evade U.S. Customs scrutiny, the infamous Dutch national running  the Venice FL. flight school which both terrorist pilots who crashed into the World Trade Center  used as “cover” is slipping into the U.S. from the Bahamas after exchanging clothes with one of the pilots on the charter flight which flew to pick him up.

Then, wearing the charter pilot’s uniform, multiple sources  confirm, Dekkers walks through U.S. Customs.

“Rudi looked like the co-pilot when they landed in the U.S.,” stated one source. “His bags were carried through Customs by a female who appeared to be the co-pilot, Christina Hewitt, who flew in with pilot Marcus Huber to pick him up, and who then posed as the customer for the charter flight when they went through Customs.”

Huber is a Swiss national; Hewitt is reportedly from Louisiana, and found employment at the Naples Airport with Dekkers several years ago “cleaning out the planes, which is quite obviously a job you wouldn’t want just anyone doing.”

Despite his reputation as an international operator, Dekkers was anything but a cool customer. “He had beads of sweat popping out on his forehead,” a pilot who picked him up in Nassau laughingly related to a friend.

“He looked so guilty that we were all afraid we were going to get caught.”
 
Where does Dekkers Get His "Juice?"

During research for “Welcome to TerrorLand” we had discovered a letter about Rex Gasteiger in correspondence files on Dekkers obtained from the Naples Airport, complaining that he (Gasteiger) was "A former employee soliciting to offer private flight instruction without authority and in violation of FAA rules."

Numerous indications point to a massive covert operation involving ‘spooks’ and Saudis in Florida as being responsible for the terrorists’ intrigues in south Florida during the run-up to the 9.11 attack as well as the “fixing” of the last two presidential elections.

We were looking for the answer to a seemingly simple question: How does Rudi Dekkers continue to avoid prosecution?

If we as a nation don't shake off the "lesser of two evils"/"that's just the way it is" attitudes towards our government, corruption from the local to federal level will continue its upward trend.

You know, I used to bristle at whichever of the Founding Fathers it was who set up the Electoral College to mitigate the influence of "the riff-raff", as he called the unwashed masses. Granted, as it now stands the Electoral College has become more a hindrance than a help in that regard. It needs re-tuning again at the very least. But I now agree with that fellow's insight. The riff-raff have been enpowered to such a degree that their wealthy representatives are in power.

I don't see any elegant resolution to the state of things.
