I just got back from protesting Chickenhawk Cheney--
and boy does it do a body good! He was in Springfield, MO, to speak to the Order of the Purple Heart Convention (something like that). What nerve, speaking to Purple Heart Vets, when he has been quoted that he "had other priorities" when asked why he did not serve in the military.

It was hotter than Hades, and the police made us leave the shade trees and go to the other side of the street--so we could broil.
Of course, Cheney sneaked into the back door.

We had some great signs, and stamina.

My sign read:

CHICKENHAWK
CHENEY
So many have DIED
For YOUR LIES

We had around 30 people braving the close to 100 degree heat in the middle of the day (when most dems have to work for a livin'---I am retired, so I could go, tehe.)
Last night's vigil here for Cindy-- we had around 300 people---it was great! Pretty good for one of the most Repug areas in America.

7. Bless your heart !
Cheney's used to sneakin in back doors now, I'm sure.

Wait until we start bustin' Halliburton big time and exposing his connections and pre-war deals.

Thanks for showing up!

8. Thanks for toughing out the heat. MO in August can be hell.
But the prick will eventually get tired of scurrying around back doors. The people handing over the cash to him as he blows through town will see you and start thinking about momentum.

  to the good folks who protested in
Springfield, MO one hot Ausust day. Real American values.

10. Was he wearing a coat?
Not that you could see him, but all the rat poison has his blood so thin he'll be asking satan for something to wrap up in.

12. THANK YOU!
I work in Arkansas and couldn't afford to take the day off, but I'm SO GLAD you all were there. I heard on KSMU that the Purple Heart guys were going to grill Cheney about veteran's affairs-please let us know if there's any newspaper coverage about your protest and about what the vets did!

13. So Good for you, MoJo!
This is only 2005..hopefully throngs more people will follow the ghoul brigade wherever they go.

But, as you say, 30 people braving that heat in the middle of a working day is a damn fine showing.

And 300 last night.. Spectacular!
