A couple of questions about "Able Danger" ?
If Mohammad Atta and his helpers were known to have a cell in this country in summer of 2000, why did they wait until the fall of 2001 to carry out the attack on the WTC? And how much info was passed to the Bush regime in January of 2001? Was the information withheld from the new Bush Administration? ANd if they were discovered in the summer of 2000, there were only 4-5 months left in the Clinton term? And the same information would have been available to the Bush Administration, or the same opportunity to get the information, but the information was ignored if that were the case. We do know that on August 6th, 2001, there was a memo on the desk of George W Bush that warned "Bin Laden Determined to Strike US"...Was that Clinton's fault also?

1. They (this administration) also had over 52
separate warnings in the summer of 2001.

2. Clinton Admin presented all info, gave AQ and Bin Laden Top Priority
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 05:30 PM by Ready4Change
Clinton personally said to Bush2 that terrorism would be his biggest problem. That hunting AQ and bin Laden should be priority One. Every administration passes on such recommendations. Nothing new here.

What IS new is what the incoming Bush administration did about it. NOTHING. Worse, they actually took steps to dismantle the infrastructure that existed for the purpose of hunting down terrorists.

Atta's cell waited till they had all their ducks in a row. That appears to be AQ's way. Also, if they noticed how the incoming Bush administration was laxing the pursuit of AQ, they may have chosen to wait in order to improve their odds.

BOTH administrations knew something was up.

Why didn't Clinton get bin Laden? Republicans in congress.

Why didn't Bush? He didn't care to try. Or, worse, he didn't WANT to try.
