Cindy bashing has gone mainstream now!
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 07:32 PM by senseandsensibility
Limppig and O'Leilly have paved the way, and all the other lapdogs are panting to fall in line. It is now customary for "mainstream" corporate whores to talk snidely about Cindy and openly question her tactics without even a hint of sympathy or understanding.

Last night was a low point for me. I returned from my vigil (which was attending by WOMEN only, but that's another story), to hear a biased account of a vigil in Vacaville on my local news channel. Vacaville is Cindy's hometown. The lapdog/propagandist that "reported" on this vigil sneered and snidely criticized Cindy throughout, before turning to the counter-protesters with smiling understanding. He said that not everyone supports Cindy, and implied that her husband was divorcing her because of what she was doing. He also said that she was estranged from her surviving children. What this has to do with anything he didn't bother to say.

DUers, this was in the San Francisco Bay Area. That's how they're reporting this in one of the most liberal places in the U.S. This is how they're reporting from Cindy's own hometown.

If you'd like to complain, their address is KRON.com . In addition, there was an article on their website this morning that said that there were "dozens" of counter-protesters at the vigil in Vacaville, but did not state how many were at the pro-Cindy vigil Gee, I wonder why...:sarcasm:

15. I was exploring a site that details media ownership
but that station's parent company isn't cox, but young broadcasting, which I've never heard of.

I was there trying to see who ran COX media, because they had been chosen as the source for my local paper's report the vigils last night, and I found the report very dismissive. I looked up COX at this site, and found they owned quite a few outlets, which had me wondering, when I read your post, if KRON was one of them.

But it isn't.

10. The people I talk to here
in upper New York can see right through the corporate media.

Course, there's always the diehard braindead but I don't talk to them about anything important.

7. The local LA news sent a reporter for their 10 pm show
Of course, the vigils were to start at 7:30....and the reporter assured us there were in fact more than the one or two people sstanding behind him at the vigil.

Now, you don't suppose the could have sent a reporter at 8 pm, do you?

22. What makes me mad
is the media keeps talking about counter protesters. But the entire time we were there, we saw a group of 4 - that was the largest crowd they could muster.

The media also is not telling you what these protesters are saying. Like the guy today who was chanting "I hope Teddy Kennedy gives Cindy a ride home". And did CNN or anyone ever tell that the group on Friday was chanting "We don't care"?

Except for Al Gore's new station, Current, which is really cutting edge hi tech.

Gore's always ahead of the pack..too good to be President..seems the USA has a lot of bad karma and gets stuck with the village idiot.

16. Sometimes to do right you have to sacrifice everything, even
family. It's none of my business what's happening in that regard - I don't know and don't care to know. Those that are attacking are making a big mistake, way beyond politics or strategy. They shame America as much as those who abuse prisoners and they weaken us for any future defense of America.

17. Exactly
It was insufferable the way this "journalist" talked about the divorce as if it invalidated Cindy's stand on the issue of *'s lies.

19. I think it's too late for that shit
Really, not so much too late, as it just didn't work with her. It's not going to start working now. Cindy is a symbol of what more than half of the people in this country are thinking. I don't think she convinced many people to think like her. I think she just helped them to find a place to go out and say what they were already thinking.

21. You're right
She's a symbol, but I still think she convinced some. I hope so, anyway. Of course anyone who is still "on the fence" about this war may be beyond reason.

Mainstream Media's bought and paid for.

Time to shut if off completely and tell everyone you know that the propaganda is in full swing, ala Germany, late 30's...

24. I agree
I have boycotted the corporate media since November. It wasn't easy since I was a cable news junkie for many years. But last night after the vigil, my hubby wanted to see the local coverage of the vigils. He called me in to see it. Big mistake. I lost it.

25. Bill Handel on KFI radio 640 Los Angeles (freeper radio) has been
saying for two days now that Cindy is "completely insane", "crazy", "completely whacko", "delusional", "needs to be locked up in an insane asylum", whatever else...........He started this all of a sudden, I figure on Wednesday early AM he got the talking points from Karl. There is no discussion of what Cindy wants, or that other families are involved; there was no mention of the vigils, no mention of the guy mowing down the memorials, just the same RW repetitive crap.
