Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic. In my youth, to send our youth to fight a war of aggression was an evil thing. It is still evil.

8. Tell him
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 09:06 PM by bonito
If he signs up, he is indebted to take a life of another should the occasion arise, and live with knowing by his action, it would be like throwing back his very existence, as if he wished not to be. If it be that his own life be taken, he will not worry any more. but tell him he is precious, to you, and show him, and let him feel his own preciousness, and he will see others as himself. He is life, and knowing this he will know the value of life, and not be a party of killing of another. This message was sent a long time ago but greed got in the way. figure. Robert C Armstrong.

And I want answers too. There hasn't been any reason firmer than a fog for our sacrificing our children. You don't have to convince THEM, you have to convince US.

And I don't think you can, because you are morally, spiritually, ethically and intellectually bankrupt.

48. i am mom to a Casey ...
and after 9/11 my son wanted to join the armed forces because i was a flt attend for one of the airlines involved..i begged my son not to , as i had no faith in bush..i dd not trust or believe facts surrounding 9/11 so i begged my son to not do it..actually it was contensious...now he is glad he didn't go ..and i thank god he didn't go...so many kids volunteered after 9/11..and they were tricked and fooled and lied to..

why do we have 130,000 kids in iraq, and so few searching for osama??

i know we have all researched it and thought alot about it..now its time to speak out about it loud and clear..for Cindy's casey , but for all of our kids in uniform in iraq..

and we all know that each and everyone of our soldiers is "our" kid!!

because we are moms!!
and dad's ..who care....

this war is ..not in my name!!

and to Cindy ..i love you lady..you stood when it was hardest for you to stand..but you stand as a treasure to all "our" kids..in your tragedy..you gave us voice..you gave us courage, you gave your all...
i will forever be grateful to you dear sweet lady!

As a mother I don't want to have to empathize with yet an other mothers pain.

31. Mommas... don't let your babies grow up to be cannon fodder...
When my kid asked me what to do about the draft, I told him not to worry... they wouldn't take him without a right big toe. He pointed out that he had a right big toe. I told him he wouldn't have if he got drafted.

I'm not sure I wasn't totally serious.

I guess it comes down to a question of who you raised your kids for. Did you raise your kids for themselves or for the State?

Do ANYTHING to keep your kids from the military.

34. After watching an interview with mothers who have lost their sons
in Iraq and are in opposition to Cindy Sheehan's stance, all I can say is I pity them. The reasons they gave is that the President of the United States asked their sons to do their duty to protect their country. So in their minds, to know that their kids died for shit, would really destroy them.

Damn. All I can say is we have to start knocking this lemming mentality out of mainstream America. The President is a leader not a god. We have a right to question him if he makes the wrong decisions.

I would have to ask any mother, no matter how patriotic she feels, that if the President of the United States asked her to shove her children off of a high rise building because this sacrifice would make our country safer, if she would do it. I'm pretty sure she would say WTF?

When you are asked to go to war and contribute your children and taxes to it, it would really behoove you to research exactly what is happening. This would be the time to question your representatives and senators and let them know that it had better be for the right reasons.

I would start hounding your pols about this and getting together with other mothers of military or soon to be military age to get all your facts in front of you before you let them take your children. I am certain in this instance you will find that this war is being fought for the profit of a few with the blood of many that they don't care about.

45. I've always hoped my off spring would not choose the military..
so far so good. If they did join up, it would be entirely their choice and I'd have to deal with it. I believe in "letting" go of your kids once they grow up or move out...usually those two things coincide. One more to go, almost out of high school. I don't own my kids, and neither does my wife. They also understand that I would have no hesitation in protesting an issue I didn't agree with...even if they had a hand in it. This is where I probably differ from the good lady Cindy: their decisions are their decisions, if they died fighting an inane war...I'd still be bewildered by their choice to join an army.
