"GREEDY UNIONS!": Read & cite next time you hear working people slandered
Joshua Gotbaum had a cold. So on his way to Washington, D.C., from New York, he stopped at a CVS Pharmacy to pick up some medicine for $3.49.
His meeting was with the financial advisers for the airline pilots' union, so he decided to charge the cold medicine as an expense Hawaiian Airlines should pay.

That day, he also spent $27 in cab fare, $279.42 for his room with a marble bath at the four-diamond Central Park South Intercontinental New York, and $50 for his share of a French-American meal at the Avenue Bistro on Manhattan's Upper West Side.

These are some of the claims Gotbaum is asking the airline to pay as part of his proposed $9.4-million compensation package for 23 months as bankruptcy trustee of Hawaiian Airlines....

Gotbaum's tally was $276,562.41 in expenses and $9.15 million in compensation for 4,995 hours or an average 50-hour work week. The request includes an $8 million "success fee" on top of the $1.15 million he has already been paid in salary.

Most recently, Gotbaum, 51, was the first CEO of the September 11th Fund, which was established the day of the terrorist attacks to meet the immediate and long-term needs of victims, families, and communities.

1. At the CBC
the "greedy union" that was locked out on monday is asking for their jobs not to be outsourced and is being offered a raise of (if memory serves) 6% over 5 years (not 6% a year, 2% a year for the first 3 and 0 for the next 2 - with an average rate of inflation of about 3% a year).

2. Meanwhile interisland air fares have nearly doubled
and service has been cut to the point where it is difficult for us to get our state board members up here for meetings from Hilo on the Big Island.

Bear in mind that it is impossible for us to simply gas up the SUV and head on down there. Hawaiian and its "competitor" Aloha are the only means of travel within our state.

Shame on Greedy Gotrocks!

3. And the airline executives get million dollar packages...
for driving their companies into bankruptcy. And with the new laws, the airline can declare bankruptcy but the workers they leave behind CAN'T!
