An idea for awareness of troop deaths in Iraq

I think we need to make displays in public spaces all over the U.S. -- 1,500 things.

For instance, take a poster board and glue 1,500 shirt buttons on it (various sizes & colors).
Header: "Here are 1,500 buttons"
Footer: "Less than the number of American men and women who have given their lives fighting in the Iraq war"

Or maybe a jar/jug filled with 1,500 of something... still less than the number of American men & women who have lost their lives in the Iraq war.

Other ideas:
* Boots on large lawns
* Tombstones (with each name)
* Helmets
* Small flags
* Crosses
* Push pins
* Paperclips
* Pennies
* Gloves
* Hearts

You get the idea.

1. Now that is a great idea for a visual.

Moms, collect the marbles your kids now ignore, put them in a bucket somewhere (how big a jar is needed for 1500 marbles?), or pennies in a jar.
