Time for another military veteran's roll call. Sound Off!
Once in a while we have to do this when the chickenhawks emerge. It's an affirmation of the DU men and women who really did their service for their country, as opposed to those members of certain other nameless sites who like to talk the talk, but never actually walked the walk.

If you wore the uniform, by the numbers, SOUND OFF!

3. And I love you for it. My Father defended the Constitution for most of
his adult life before his untimely death in 1975 after three tours in Viet-Nam.

But now is not the time for a military sound off, it is the time for a Mom's sound off. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x4392984

I would defend this country with my dying breath, but I will not give my son to a corporate war for profits.

18. I may not have been there myself
was still in high school, but have met many who were. Most were drafted and had no choice. My s/o had his student deferment yanked away and instead of being drafted into the Army, he joined the Navy.

Kudos and thanks to all who have served in any military capacity.

I'm a Chief, and don't ever forget it!

I chew up butterbars for breakfast and spit them out as lieutenant material before lunch. I know everything you need before you do and can figure out the fix for anything that needs fixing.

I've been there, done that, and have the anchors burned into my soul to prove it. We always have "days like that" - in fact, we live for them - and never take vacations from being a Chief - 'cause...
"Once a Chief, always a Chief - 'till the day you die and a couple years after."

My crew is my family, my ship (or station) is my home. The most important thing in my life other than preserving and protecting the Constitution and the citizenry of this country I swore to serve is going to be the well-being of my crew, and the success of all our endeavors.

Got a problem? Find the Chief.

Haele
