The tide is turning. Even the bumper stickers are changing.
Every so often on my way to and from work, I see the same pickup with a B/C sticker in the back window. I haven't seen it for a week or so but I was behind it this morning and noticed something odd with the sticker. As I got closer, I saw what it was -- there was a Kerry/Edwards round sticker plastered over the B/C sticker! Whoo hoo!

Granted, it could possibly be vandalism but I rather doubt it because the B/C sticker was in the top center of the window so the person would have had to climb into the box of the truck to put on the K/E sticker. Also, the K/E sticker was very carefully positioned. If you're doing a "stick-and-run", I doubt you'd have the time to be that careful. At any rate, it's good to know that some people are starting to wise up. I'm curious as to what brought this about (Cindy?) but regardless of the reason, it's good to see. Hopefully others will follow suit.

44. ???
I suppose so, but it seems like an invitation to get fucked with, to me. Then people get outraged that some jerk tried to cut them off to show them their counter-bumpersticker...next thing you know, weapons are in play and it just escalates for no good reason and with no apparent use. I prefer a more subtle approach. But your mileage may vary.

I live in a "planned community" north of Houston and am
surrounded by W stickers. my car has 4 stickers on it -
peace flag, If you're not outraged... and others..
my family thinks it's DANGEROUS to display them - I get dirty
looks all the time, I am so proud to display them, tho...
almost all of the other liberal stickers are on cars from
out of state... I keep waiting for the tide to turn -
I am surrounded by uber-goobers........

yes, I am new to posting, but have been a DUer for a long time,
I just have to blow off some steam somewhere, can't here in Houston,
these bubbas here are hard to take sometimes, went to lunch with
some Rep.friends and started to talk politics and they didn't even
know who Bill Frist was! but they still "support our troops"
they think that the people in Crawford "ought to be arrested"
I told them that I was going there tomorrow, and I wished I had a
camera so I could show you their faces.... priceless.....

your friends you're going to Crawford. I really think that's the way to get to them. Just tell them what you think and what you're doing to stop this war over and over again cause apparently repetition works for these brainwashed people.

I used to see Bush bumper stickers all over the place, but I hardly see them anymore. And they were leaving them on their cars long after the election. I am seeing more bumper stickers that support our side these days, & San Diego is supposed to be *so* conservative.

I have always liked my dentist. Great guy and I was shocked to find out he supported *. We have gotten into a couple of good-natured disputes. I had hoped I could convert him. I informed him it is possible to be intelligent AND evil.:eyes:

42. I live in Forsyth County, Georgia.
Who cares about nasty looks? Let'em look nasty (ugly too). Currently I have a Democratic Underground sticker and a Pro-America, Anti-Bush sticker on my car.

Right after the elections, I got lots of nasty looks, the finger, and people even tried to run me off the road on two occasions. I just don't care, and I refuse to remove my stickers. I have had any negative comments of any kind in many months.

Honestly, overall, I've had more positive remarks about my stickers than negative. I just wish people would stop being afraid of what people might think of them, and start speaking out either verbally or with stickers, or whatever up here. I willing to bet that more people didn't vote at all up here in North Georgia than voted for Bush.

I hate feeling isolated up here. I know I'm not alone. I want to know there are more people that think like me around here. Heck, I had an exterminator and a UPS man come to my house just yesterday and both said they loved my Anti-Bush sticker. They both seemed really relieved to see somebody that thought like them. I know I was thrilled to see them too and explained to both what Democratic Underground is. I mean that just happened in my own driveway.

So throw a sticker on your car. I'll shake your hand and hug your neck if I see you out and about.:)

Oh, and I almost forgot. I'm seeing far less Bush stickers up here than just a few months ago. Most of the stickers that I do see are on the same cars I see every day anyway. Lots of yellow and red, white, and blue ribbons though.

You're not alone. First off, you have us. ;) Second, it sounds like others around you share your beliefs but might be afraid to say it or put a sticker on their car. Seeing you having the courage to do it just might be enough to make them do the same. You are standing up for what you believe in and leading by example. Kudos!

Of course, that's easy for me to say, tucked away safely in a blue state. It's not so easy for those in red states and believe me, we feel your pain. I'm not sure what I'd do if I lived in a red state. On second thought, I guess I do. I'd stick up for what I believed in and fight like hell but then again, I've always been a friggin' rebel. Damn, that was easy. ;)

I drove to Camp Casey from the eastern panhandle of WV, which involves driving some 1500 miles down the length of VA along 1-81, then through Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas. I saw scores of B/C bumper stickers but not one single Kerry/Edwards sticker, except for the one on my old station wagon. I felt like I was rolling trough the southland with a big bullseye painted on my car! I also got tailed during a stop in Texarkana by a couple of guys in big pickup trucks who pulled right up to my rear bumper, trying to intimidate me. Thank god I wasn't on a country road at the time.

but better late than never I guess. I'm actually kind of curious as to what caused this person to come around. It must have been something that happened in the last week or so. Maybe Cindy is having a larger impact than even we imagined? I suspect the Larry Northern incident rubbed a lot of people the wrong way too, though I'm not sure it received enough coverage by the media to have an impact.
