Rockets narrowly miss U.S. ships in Jordan

AMMAN, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Rockets were fired at two U.S. warships in Jordan's Red Sea Aqaba port on Friday, but missed their targets and killed a Jordanian soldier on land.

The three Katyusha missiles instead landed on a warehouse, a hospital and the neighbouring Israeli port of Eilat.

You would expect some kind of statment from the prez, right?

I guess he's focusing on his vacation....

President Bush to Vacation at Tamarack Resort

Tamarack Resort received official confirmation today that President George W. Bush will be at the Idaho ski and snowboard resort Aug. 22-24. Tamarack, North America's newest four-season mountain resort, is located in the Payette River Valley, 100 miles North of Boise in Valley County, Idaho.

During the President's visit, access to the resort will be limited to Tamarack Resort homeowners, Club members, lodging guests and season pass holders. However, there will be no planned public appearances by the President and some areas of the resort may be restricted.

1. He's getting on with his life, didn't you know?
He needs some balance -- maybe he's out riding his bike.

5. About those Aug 17th terrorism drills by the military....
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 11:01 AM by Autumn Colors
Where's that other thread around here that was talking about Aug 17th terrorism drills by the military and a memo cancelling all leave after Sep. 5th?? And DUers speculating about a false flag attack on or about that date? Then, two days after that date ... this?

Gee, maybe the Prez "knows" he has nothing to worry about .... or something ....

Ya think?

11. there are a lot more drills
Not every one of them will result in a false flag attack. We don't know anything useful for predicting false flag attacks, but we do know that drills are frequently used as cover for them.

Since we don't like being killed by our own government, we watch out for those drills.

7. Tamarack? Oh man, Idaho has turned into a tourist trap
Until they built this resort, Tamarack was a one-street town.

Yeah. It's pretty there. But once you get north of the root-crop belt, the whole state is pretty. But there is Nothing There. At all.

This is a perfect place for Incurious George to vacation: you have to go to Tamarack. It's not really on the way to anything, so you can't just go by Tamarack. Hence, it will be easy to protect the Chimperor there.

Besides, it's in Central Idaho--on a percentage basis, there are more freepers there than anywhere else in America.

9. Yes, the freepers
THAT'S why he's there. He needs some positive reinforcement after having to pass by Camp Casey a couple of times. Take him to a place where he's surrounded by freepers so he thinks everyone likes him again. :sarcasm:

12. You're right.
One of our naval ships is under attack, and he's on vacation?

This confirms what I've always believed: that we've beenn without a leader for the past 5 years. We don't really have a president. He's nothing more than a hologram, an illusion.

Think back to 9/11, as Bush sat reading the Pet Goat story. There's a courageous man for you. Even though he took an oath to protect this country, when he was sworn in as president. He's done nothing of the sort.

He's just been -- AWOL
