RW gem: taking God out of school
"i have a bone to pick on someone who posted im a christian but dont like comandmentds in school thats why crime vilonce kilings in schools is about they kicked God out of schools the problem is they should put 10 commandments in schools teach creaTION not evolution then things wiill get betetr"

http://www.christianforums.com/t1936648-why-do-xtians-want-10-commandments-in-school.html&page=6#post17810060

And NO I did not say anything about the spelling. I don't feel it is right to bring that up since it is more about making myself feel good by making the poster feel bad. (Although Bob Boudelang's face floated before my eyes as I read the post.. I will admit that.)

1. Where does God sit in school?
Is he front and center with the high achievers?

Or does he sit in the back row with the "Bad Boys"?

:silly:

10. When asked to explain why the Bible says it loves the sinner a Yogi

Guru answered: "Because they make for more interesting people"

Seriously true. I might have gotten the actually credentials of the man wrong but Marianne Williamson said this in one of her talks.

So I guess He would sit in the back.

EDIT to add last sentence.

15. I agree.
that said, I'm amazed that the author of the "pro-god-in-school" post -- who is clearly indoctrinated -- could believe that an omnipresent super-being can be "pulled out" of anywhere.

are often those whose faith is the weakest.

2. Of course this person
remains woefully ignorant of the fact that the schools are overcrowded and our culture is so self-absorbed and materialistic that the social dynamics within the schools themselves are so dysfunctional that no amount of religious indoctrinization would change the way things are.

When religion ruled people used to gather in the town square to watch a hanging as if it were a picnic.

These people are so stunningly ignorant it makes me crazy.

4. What a weak God that poster must worship.
The God I worship is everywhere, including schools. He/She can't be kicked out.

It is not appropriate or lawful to teach about my God or yours in school, Mr. Boudelang.

6. Yeah, I had to mention about God being there, laws or no
And for my atheist friends, He isn't where you are if you don't want him to be. :)

9. As a pantheist humanist
I believe God is everywhere, and especially where people are. To kick God out you'd have to kick all the people out, burn it to the ground, till the land over, salt the land, and God would STILL be there, silently weeping over the insanity of it.

7. Thanks. :^) I am trying to go with the iron fist in velvet glove approach
And then too, I do actually think about WWJD every so often. Since I see him as a really nice guy, I figure He wouldn't flame anyone.

21. Sounds like the classic talking point
about how violence has gone up and scores have gone down since taking God out of school.

And, no, I can't resist taking the cheap shot.

This poster apparently had a "10 commandments" education when he went to school, and it sure as hell hasn't done much for him.
