DUers. Tell media/newspapers about the postal workers reaction! (Crawford)
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 01:46 PM by Hissyspit
Am posting separately this paragraph from jaysunb's Crawford Update post, on understandinglife's suggestion. I believe this post should be emailed to as many media as possible. It is a scene straight out of a movie ("Norma Rae," "Miracle on 34th Street"? :P), and is highly human-interest oriented. Someone let Olbermann know!:

"Johnny Wolfe, one of the co-founders of the Peace House went to the DFW office to pick the lot that had been sent back. When he walked into the place, he noticed that AirAmerica was cranked up in the front receiving area of the office. After he introduced himself at the counter and informed them that he was there to pick up the mail, the entire facility, including the processing center in the back, stopped and came to the front. They cheered and roared their approval in the loudest Texas fashion for everyone in Crawford who was there to take it to Bush. News of this brought tears to a few of us back at the House. I can’t begin to adequately describe what it’s meant to get that kind of support. When I think of how difficult it’s been, I just think of those moments that I couldn’t even begin to imagine reading in a story.

Totally fantastic!! Run that on CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, .... !!"

As always, even if they don't run it, they cannot claim they did not know about it.

1. That's great! "who'dathunkit?"
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 01:39 PM by rateyes
I went to our central p.o. to mail some bulk mail the other day and they had "Hannity" on in the back! I almost puked.

Of course, I live in GA--used to live in Fort Worth, a much more pleasant place--lot more Dems. Won't ever forget listening to Jim Wright give a speech at Tarrant County Democratic Convention in '84 calling Republicans "Reverse Robinhoods--steal from the poor and give to the rich!"

9. Jim Wright helped me with my homework.
His home phone # is listed in th white pages, and he very kindly helped me with a high school research paper when I called him.

THAT was my idea of a representative!

17. Yeah, which makes me even madder every time
I see or hear the name Newt Gingrich. Jim Wright was good for this country--we need him right now.

19. Jim Wright was totally screwed!!! He was Clintoned.
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 04:18 PM by WhoWantsToBeOccupied
If the GOP were held to the same standards they held Wright and Clinton to, there would be roughly four GOP Congressmen, one Senator and none in the Oval Office.

14. Who would have known that the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is a
bastion of Democrats?!

(i.e., Crawford, TX. Ever read the town newspaper, The Lone Star Iconoclast? You're in for a grand surprise if you haven't.)

18. This was in the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) office, NOT in Crawford
That's where the mail that Crawford rejected for not being 'properly' addressed with the full address of the Crawford Peace House was sent. It was picked up there. The DFW office didn't return it to every sender, it kept it all together.

21. I know. The parenthetical subtitle is to let people know the connection.
So that they will click on the original post. Can only get so many words in to the subject line. It becomes clear if the whole post is read.

I was just pointing it out to the posters who think Crawford's post office is full of Dems. If only!

15. No. They can follow the Nazi example
select one person as "a lesson." Perhaps even a person who would be hurt the most by a loss of a job.

23. That and the f'ing military approach supervision there
That's a tough job having to put up with the method of supervision. Everytime someone goes 'postal' I'm not surprised. The mgmt picks a victim and rides them until the crack. There's some kind of sickness in the way they supervise - mgmt is obviously republican
